Thursday Exercise. BOOM SHAKA LAKA
Hit up a great hour on the elliptical, and I'm feeling good this morning.
I had been doing the treadmill for a while, and will go back to that again, but one thing I do like about the elliptical is that you can really feel the workout in the back of your legs and your gluteals. (heh)
But at any rate, I'm done for the day.
Who else is sweating and stinking today?

boom shaka laka to you too Norm.. LOL!!
going to gym this afternoon for work with Mr. Rocco.. calves, triceps, and abs. He has this new ab workout that he likes and we have done together before. Maybe we will do it together again today. It involves 5 mins of even paced walking on treadmill, followed by 1 minute sprint. Then, right into cable, bench and floor work. It is a cardio ab workout that he found on his Iphone.. there's an app for that! lol!
I will probably stay after our workout and do some cardio on the recumb bike or maybe try not to fall off the elliptical. It is a good workout, but still have trouble looking graceful and staying on it. We'll see.

POST EXERCISE NOTE: no cardio for me today. We did a good workout on triceps and calves and then he stuck it to me with the abs... did some crunches and then he had me get up in the plank position and stay there...then he starts gabbing.. still staying, still holding, still gabbing.. wtf.. oh by the way, Lisa, hold that for 60 seconds.. WHAT?!?! Ok, I can do this.. never held this more than say 20 seconds before, but I can do it!! By the time I got to 50 seconds my left leg was shaking, he said the veins were popping out of my legs, but I DID IT!!!!!!!! I'm going to be sore later tonight and tomorrow...
I did an hour on my Elliptical and will be taking it easy for the rest of the day as I still have this back ache. Any suggestions on how I can build up my upper strength? I want to have buff arms without looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Okay more like Linda Hamilton. lol. I was thinking about investing in PX90 I know it's gruesome workout but I need to jump start my weight loss again. Lost 4lbs but still want to get down another 11-15 if possible. More toning than anything else. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Shilpa,
I've been digging the arm bike at the gym. It uses water as the resistance and is both cardio and upper-body toning. You can adjust the hand positions so that you're "pushing" or "pulling" against the water, or so that your hand is 90 from the plane of resistance (straight up and down). Each of those works different areas of the upper body musculature.
If you're thinking about joining a gym, the other thing would be to look at the STRIVE circuit equipment. It's designed to tone the muscle groups in a very sensible way and I'm really liking the results on my arms and upper body so far. Apparently it's what they used with Hillary Swank to tone for Million Dollar Baby - she's a vegan, so it's hard to build toned muscle, but this circuit is designed to do just that.

Thanks Karen. I do eat meat mostly fowl and poultry but no beef. We do not cook meat or any animal products in the house so this sounds perfect. I do have a gym membership at Planet Fitness i will definately check these machines out. Thanks for the tips. Hey I like Hillary Swank's arms as well. lol.
