Happy Friday Everyone!!

Today has me still at work for another hour and then home for bed. Up with the kids at 7  and then I am going to do some retail therapy until I am home for some rest before working again from 4:30 to1.
It is my 10 year anniversary today! I am so excited to celebrate with my husband on Saturday night. He is having his surgery on Monday so we are really looking forward to going out because we know the next few weeks will be tough ones for him.

I am skipping the gym today and having a rest day.

I hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning Everyone,
I have been flying under the radar here for a few days.  Not feeling 100% on my game and then got really sick on Thursday.  Doc thinks it may be the flu, but gave the official name of "Viral Syndrome,"  which I think means "I dunno" in doctor lingo.  My main concern is my asthma and my job.  Freaking administration wants to penalize people for being sick but tells you not to go to work if you are.

So, I am taking a sick day today, because of the fever, and other yucky symptoms I have.  I think the only part of my body that does not hurt is my toes.  I can't sleep, and I am queasy as all get out.  Funny thing is, I made a big pot of soup the other day, not even knowing I was coming down with something.  God is good.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Hugs,
Trish

I thought of you, too, Trish.  I hope you feel better too.  We are in the same boat as you - get told not to come to work, but get in trouble if we call out x amount of times within x amount of a time frame.

Oh...and viral syndrome is basically a combination of "I dunno" and "the flu" all rolled into one.  Unfortunately, not to much treatment other than rest, fluids, and symptom control (tylenol/advil for fever, meds for your asthma, etc)  Glad you have the soup!

Good morning.

I will get kiddos off to school and to SIL, then go to my friends house so we can head down to the PS office. She had a procedure monday and will get her drain out and I will have my consult.

After that, who knows, I have the day off and we will begin moving small stuff this evening and prepare for moving big furniture tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Jo - just wanted to let you know the Crockpot Salsa Chicken ROCKS!! And its really WLS friendly if you use lo-fat sour cream (I didn't but honestly you don't get that much in a serving). Anyway, last night we had it as a main course but I made 4 large breasts so tonight I'm going to shred mine and have it over lettuce like a taco salad, but with chicken. I used mild seasoning and salsa because my mom can't eat hot stuff, but I get it would be awesome with some seasoning to make it a tad spicier.

Good luck with the move tomorrow - and enjoy the chicken!

Crockpot Salsa Chicken - Yum-Yum!

Spray crockpot w/Pam
Put chicken breasts on bottom (I used 4 boneless/skinless breasts)
Pour 1/2 cup water over chicken
Sprinkle one packet taco seasoning mix over chicken
Pour 1/2 cup salsa (any kind) over chicken
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours

When done add 1/2 cup sour cream to the liquid and stir together - that's it!

Last night I had 1/2 of a breast with a veggie - tonight I'm having the other half shredded over lettuce w/cheese - like a chicken taco salad.
