Appetizer recipes anyone?

Never had hummus or endame? sp?.

I live in a shell............

So does edamame (literally - it comes in a shell like a peapod)

Ok, can I buy good hummus or do I have to try to make it?  That sounds good, spread on the tortillas and cut into slices. 

I L-O-V-E Buffalo Chicken Dip, but fear that I'd want the chips!  Danger! Danger!

The spinach dip in the bread also is a possibility!

This is for an all adult 50th birthday party!  Any more suggestions/??

Well then, don't buy the chips.  Serve it with veggies like celery and what not.  You were asked to bring an appetizer, and i'm sure there will be chips SOMEWHERE around.

Hummus - wegmans and most grocery stores sell lots of flavored hummus' these days.  I like roasted garlic myself.  But, it's real easy.  A few cans of chick peas (aka garbanzo beans) place in food processor and pulse/process.  Then, slowly stream in olive oil until desired consistency, and add flavoring that you like.  A few ideas:

Lemon juice/roasted or plain garlic cloves/salt/pepper, maybe some chopped parsley at the end.

Roasted red peppers with some of THEIR oil that they come packed in, salt, pepper etc.

If you don't care about it being WLS friendly my friend makes a "drunken hot dog" recipie that tastes like a combination of just goodness but it is full of sugar and alcohol (although most of the alcohol cooks off)  I can give you that recipie if you'd like, it's a crock pot recipie so it's nice and easy!
