If you are among of the surgery patients that have hair loss or thinning, read this article about zinc.

Thanks Nan,
Just want to clarify the link is an ad for a product (Hair Muck) and not necessarily an article.

It seems to be directed at folks with real or seemingly permanent hair loss and not the temporary slow or no hair growth that wls patients may experience. Although the remedies may be similar.

Zinc has been mentioned plenty as a oral remedy for our kind of temporary hair loss. A zinc supplement taken along with keeping protein goals and use of a shampoo (who's name escapes me right now, but I'm sure some of you remember the name).

So in closing I think all information is important but we don't want to complicate the remedy that for most of us is a temporary set-back, dormant hair follicles.

Nioxxin is the shampoo - worked wonders for me. According to my Mom (a 30+ year veteran of being a hairdresser) said that it works to stimulate the follicles and "awaken" them if you will - also helps to clean them out and make it easier for the hair to grow

never heard about the connection with zinc though - very interesting!
