I appreciate the info! I will see what November brings - I'll be at the Barix meeting on Saturday.

I'm gong to pass on the Facebook page for now, as I have told very few people about my surgery and prefer to keep this a private matter.

I wish I could have stayed in Lancaster yesterday.  I would have loved to seen the 'Drop Your Pants Fashion Show.'  How inspirational was it?

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Revision from lapband to RNY 12/26/17 with Dr. Caitlin Halbert

It was encouraging to hear each specific change they made to keep the weight loss going: exercise, support system, confidence, drinking water, changing thought processes... just so much.  I really appreciated how emotional it was for a few of them - it brought one man to tears to share how this one decision to have WLS has changed his life.  Last year he was possibly facing death in the near future - now he has a whole new life.

You definitely had to be there.

I agree Liz, it was a great evening. I told Melissa last month I was never coming back ..... total waste of time. No ...... not because of the content or the staff .......... just too big, couldn't hear, etc.... I chalked it up as my "check in the box on the to-do list". She asked again earlier in the week ......... and it stuck in my head. Decided late yesterday to give it another shot. Wow, what a difference. Inspirational, emotional, exciting ........ the losers oozed it, and I felt it.

I haven't had as much contact with Dr. Brader as others, so I don't know how he compares to other doctors in the field. All I can say is he keeps it real, and he doesn't tell people what they want to hear. At this point, that's all I want ........ straight shooter.

The ideas he talked about for future meetings, making the WLS process better, and the support system all seemed positive. More importantly, he listened intently to the ideas from the audience.

Since I will probably attend meetings alone, it was REALLY great for me to see Melissa and her husband again ....... and to meet Liz and Holly. Just helps to not feel like an outsider .... like I'm part of something.

kd,

We talked a little about the whole facebook thing. Do you know if ................. folks that I have as friends on my current facebook would see the bariatrics thing when viewing my page? I'm not ashamed ........... I just made a choice to only tell certain people so far. The world will know soon (I hope) .......... just would rather limit it for now.

MH as in Mental Health?  Kristen did say the next meeting a therapist will be there to talk about the Holidays coming up and how to deal with family, friends, and FOOD!

Dr. Brader didn't anything say about bring MH on board the practice... but he is interviewing for another surgeon.  He said he's going to choose someone with as much experience as he has - he said he is done training.

Yes, they would.  It would be posted under your links tab and could pop up as

He's a fan, become a fan thing on the left side of your FB page.  I would say that if you don't want it known by all just yet....not to become a fan.

I didn't get to meet with anyone last nite.  I was the blonde who first took the mic from Kristian.  The one ALWAYS on face book...lol.....

It would also be on your profile page listing you as a fan......;'(
