Blood work
I just got my 6-month blood work results for my appt with Dr. P next week. Eye-popping.
Total Cholesterol 157 (I've struggled for YEARS to keep it at 205 - 210)
Triglycerides 69 (I've never in my life I think been anywhere near the "normal" 150 range!)
Calcium 8.9 (normal = 8.6 - 10.2, so I think I'll up this a bit)
Vit D 29 (normal is 20 - 100, so this is a little on the lower side of normal) (D3=20, D2=9)
CBC portion is really good except for RDW which is 16.4 (normal is 11 - 15%) - I have no idea what this is, so will have to do a little research - anyone know?)
Iron is good
Total iron 53 (normal 40 - 175)
Iron binding capacity 350 (normal 250-450)
% saturation 15 (normal 15-50% - on the low side of normal - but how do you change this?)
Vitamin B12 is a little high - 1330 - normal is 200-1100, but I had been taking 5000mcg, now taking 2500mcg, so this should adjust
This is just phenomenal for me. I literally feel like I've just gotten an A on a test!!! Truly amazing.

Karen,
That's great!!! Dr P told me that the normal ranges are higher for bariatric patients, so I wouldn't worry too much about your B12. (Unless, of course, Dr P tells you it's too high.) I never thought to ask her if there was a list of ranges available to use as a reference when we have labs done.
