Saturday September 26th!! Noon until??? (usually 4-5pm)

All are welcome regardless of surgeon, type of surgery or stage in the journey! Your support person is also more then welcome! The Hubbys/Boyfriends/Signifigant Others usually hang out in the living room and play Wii.

If anyone has a recipe that they would like to see made more WLS friendly just let me know and I'll get it worked into the menu!

(ETA)  Right now I am thinking of making:
Chicken apple burgers
pumpkin muffins
vegetarian chili

I was thinking fall fare

My address is

65 Raubsville Road
Easton PA 18042
cell - 610-462-1204

You can park anywhere on my grass (pink garage and forward) if you pull in facing the garage it allows more room for everyone to park! (The lady behind me is a witch and will call the cops if you park on her grass - so pink garage and forward is safe!)

PS - We do ask for a small donation (totally annoymous - there is a jar on the counter) if possible to help offset the costs

So Who's cooking with me??

Liz,

Someday I hope to be able to make it, my life just seems to keep me from your wonderful cooking support group, but I will be trying some of these recipes now that the cool weather is here, which gives me more desire to experiment, I especially want to start baking things with the holiday's approaching. . .  so I'll be on the lookout for the recipes.

Have a great support group tomorrow!

Hugs, Laureen

I'll be able to be there - yay!

Liz - is there somewhere near you where I can get sugar-free choc chips (non-aspartame)?  I've completely bombed out on finding them anywhere....

I'd be interested in discussing using "alternate flours" for baking... for example, quinoa flour or buckweat flour, or chickpea flour, to increase protein and decrease refined wheat or gluten.   I've gotten some and now am at a loss as to what to do next ;-).

Thanks!
Karen

HA! OK - well I had some pumpkin muffins on the menu - why don't we try a batch with one of your special flours? If you want to bring them along that is - we can do a few different batches and do each with a different flour.

I get the no sugar added chips at Wegmans and Giant. Ghirardeli makes them The 100 % has no sugar and the 72% has something like 4 grams in 18 pieces (which is more then what I would consider a serving)

I have to run into Giant tonight, I'll see if they have a bag.

Karen,

I am all out of my stock of Hershey's SF chocolate chips but the Wegmans by me (and Liz) has them readily available most of the time.

I don't happen to know if they have aspartame in them.

I will pick some up for me anyway and also pick some up for you if they do not contain aspartame (if Liz gets them, I can keep the extra's here...I'm always using them in something)

Pam,

Thank you so much!  if you could pick me up a couple of bags, that would be wonderful.  I'll pay you tomorrow.
