Ok so yesterday i decided some yummy chicken soup would be a nice warm lunch for me today.  mmmmm  but then I got to thinking to much and thought I'd ask this question.

Since I'm not suppose to have liquids with my meals ... uhm do i dump the broth or keep it in?  Its a really silly delima but my mind just cannot come up with the solution.

there was a post about this on the rny board. The majority said sip the broth first (or most of it) then eat the remainder. Seemed to make sense.

I never would have thunk of that question!!! Very interesting! I was going to make chicken soup this weekend. Hmmmmm . . . . Maybe just a little broth and lots of chicken?

If you're still on soft foods, you don't need to be worrying so much about separating the liquids from the meals.  That's more when you're on full solids... and in that case, the soup IS your meal, so you can drink the broth.

As it was explained to me, the issue is that if you drink with a solid-food meal, the liquid is washing the food out of the pouch too quickly and leaving you hungry for more food.  So you tend to eat more as a result.

With a soup-based meal, that's not so much of an issue.
