Let's Talk Plastic Surgery??

Hi Everyone!

Well, I think I am ready to bite the bullet have some plastic surgery done.  I've met with one surgeon already and I have another one schedule for the next coming weeks.  I thought for sure I would never want plastics but here I am, actually looking forward to the end result. I am really not looking forward to the surgery and the recovery, though.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice that you would like to share with me?  Anyone love or hate their plastic surgeon and feel like sharing that information with me?

I haven't had plastics yet...I won't lie...I'd be VERY interested in it if there weren't two major roadblocks for me:

A)  Having kids.  Kind of stupid to pay for something like that and then go an ruin it, LOL
B)  Paying for it...just don't have the extra cash and don't want to take out a loan, or attempt to take out a loan.

Well, then you have plenty of time to learn from us that are going through it and not make our mistakes. :=)

I actually do not want the surgery but don't want the side affects that this extra skin is giving me so... I am going to just do it!  I think kind of like WLS.  I did not want to do it, but I had to.

I have also been really thinking about a thigh lift/job/fix - whatever you want to call it. And now that my insurance is going to be changing I'm getting kind of anxious to see if I can get it in and covered before it changes.

May I ask who you saw? I see that you live in Exton - I work in King of Prussia and live in the Chadds Ford area...thanks.

I saw Dr. Gary Wingate.  I liked him. I am going to see one other surgeon and then decide.

I'm starting to look too.  Had a consult with Dr. Lam (does surgery at Barix).  I liked him but I really think I need a fleur de lis TT and he was resistent so I'm going to get other opinions.  I'm looking at TT and breast lift (prob w/o implants)

Hi Lisa
I had 2surgeries with DR. Lam @ Barix and now I am scheduled for the 3rd on Nov 23 @ Barix, I had a full TT, inner thigh lift, back & butt lift and now I am going in for Brachio & lipo, I did not have nor did I want the fleur de lis cut. for my TT I was cut from hip to hip, check out my pix and my incision. I can't say enough for how pleased I am with my results.
my friend had a breast reduction with Dr. Skalicky w/o implants and was very pleased.
Good Luck in your search, it is good to get 2 or 3 opinions it makes you feel better with your choice

Hi Georgianne,

Congratulations on your success!  Plastics--or rather reconstructive surgery--does wonders.  I'm 3 yr out and down about 125 lbs.  I've had my tummy and outer thighs done so far.  Although I live in Doylestown, Dr. Charles Herman at Pocono Medical Center did my surgeries.  He was awesome and well worth the hike.  I highly recommend him.  He has 2 offices--one in the Poconos and the other in NYC.  I found him through another PA OH'er and several of us have also used him.

Good luck!

I had my breast reduction and TT with Dr. Bottger in Bryn Mawr... I don't think that's too far from Exton.  I liked him cuz he was what I call a "straight shooter"  he tells it like it is and helps give an absolute realistic expectation of what to expect.  He also did some lipo on a good friend of mine.. she wasn't a WLS patient or anything.. but she was also thrilled with him.  Here's his website in case you want to check it out.  He also managed to get my reduction covered by my insurance.. I think he has a way with words cuz no other surgeon even wanted to try because they didn't think they could get it approved.
