***TGIF Roll Call***
Good Morning Everyone,
The Phils won last night. Magic number is 4. Let's see if they can do it this weekend. Last night was Back to School Night at work. Got to see Steffi, and she looks fan-damn-tastic.
I am up because I had to go potty, and get something to drink. I am so addicted to this machine, I had to stop by and check on things.
Friday has me wearing my red for the contract negotiations, as well as the Phillies. After school, I am heading up to a therapy appointment. After tha****ching the Phillies game.
I am working at the hospital this weekend, but have Monday off.
Huggles,
trish

Hey Trish,
Good luck with the contract negotiations. My father went through that with his job and every time they do, it's a big production and a scary time (one year they were "locked out" of their building and essentially unemployed for months...)
Anyway...I got up because of all the darn water I've been drinking thanks to the UTI I have. Granted, I have no more symptoms, but am obviously still on meds, and am drinking extra fluid as a precaution.
Once I was up for that....I couldn't go back to sleep. Of course...I'm hungry and need to go for fasting blood work this am so I can't eat. Why is it when I can't eat I want to?
Other than the blood work...today is up in the air. I may try to get in touch with Lisa and make a trip into Philly to see her and Hailey if their schedule would allow it.
If not....there is a decent amount of housework that needs to be done that I've been neglecting, so I could always do that. Fun. Brian mentioned possibly seeing a movie....I'm not sure....haven't been in the movie type of mood lately.
Depending on the weather...I may take my rollerblades out and get some much needed "real" physical activity.
Have a great day all!
Pam

Hi Pam,
If you do see Lisa and Hailey, give her a big hug from me, and the rest of us here.
Thanks,
Trish

Ok....so it's 9:15am and I've already got a lot accomplished.
Seeing as though I had been up since about 4 I paid a whole bunch of bills online.
Then, I took a nice hot shower to try to get some of my veins to poke their little selves out.
Left the house bout 6:45am...Got labs drawn...luckily no one was in the office, they took me right back, got me on the first stick (WOW) and I was in and out within 10 mins or so.
I forgot my lunch bag with breakfast and what not in it and had errands to run, so I stopped and grabbed myself breakfast.
Went to Walmart, Target, & Walgreens. Got a TON of Halloween decorations. Hubby's fav holiday which I've never really done much for, and last year we were moving the day after Halloween so obviously we didn't decorate....the year before that surgery was the day before so we didn't do much and on Halloween he spent the day sitting at Barix with me walking the halls...so as a surprise I am doing up the house this year. Everything is in my trunk, hopefully he has no need to go in there!
Now gonna figure out the rest of the day - probably at least do some of the cleaning and try to get in touch w/ Lisa to see if we can go to philly or not.

Good Morning Trish, Pam & PA,
Yes, we've arrived at the great day of the work week, the day most of us look forward to FRIDAY! I am thrilled that I have a 3-day weekend and while it will be a busy one, having one extra day will be nice, it might give me some time for R&R.
Well I'm off to get ready for my workday and wishing you all a Happy Friday!
Prayers and positive thoughts to those in need, I know the power of all those prayers are especially helping Lisa,, Little Hailey & Russ.
Make it a good day!

Good Morning Trish & PA:
Had my first class last night, boy is it going to be a lot of work. Good thing I'll be out of work this entire class, I'm going to need the extra time for all the research and writing. I thought my project was intense this is going to be worse. Oh well made it through the big project I can do this
Will be doing a lot of reading and I have to get a list of questions together for class to figure out what research books I'll be needing to get this final paper that is due on Oct 23rd together.
I was a bit sore by the time I came home from class from not being able to find a comfortable sitting position or a comfortable chair in class, so I had to take my tylenol w/codene last night to go to sleep.
Today as usual I'll be sipping and walking. And now adding homework into the mix. I'm planning to get out for my walk this morning and who knows maybe another one this afternoon. It feels like it's cool out today so I might even walk further than I have normally around the neighborhood.
Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!

TGIF!!!
Today has me working at least until 11. I'm thinking about taking a 1/2 day so I can go spend more time with my dad. I haven't decided if I will go then or if I will wait til Siehara gets home from school and drop her off at a friend's house and then go. I gave Siehara the choice of whether or not she would like to see him again and she does not want to. She is afraid he is going to die while she is there and doesn't want to see that. I can totally understand and respect that. It gives me comfort knowing that the last time she saw him (last Friday) when we were saying good night to him, he looked us both straight in the eyes and said "I LOVE YOU BOTH" That is going to be her last memory of him and it is a good one.
Anyway, before the waterworks start again... today is wor****il either 11 or 3:30. After work, I will spend some time with Siehara and then probably go over to our Friday night friends' house, where either we will both stay and just hang out or I will leave her and go to see my dad... probably the latter.
Tomorrow will depend on how dad is. I think I may skip synagogue in the morning and go to spend time with him. Maybe I can have Siehara sleep over at the above friends' house and go to synagogue with them. Again, depending on dad, I really want/need to go to Liz's for support. You guys are like my family and I need that right now. I will just make sure to have my cell phone on me, as always, and will probably give my step mom Liz's phone number just in case I don't have a signal.
It's going to be a rough next couple of days/weeks for me and I am so lucky to have found you all.

Lisa,
I'm so glad that you guys had that moment with your dad last Friday... and that you're so sensitive to asking her about going to see him again. That's such a graceful and wonderful way to handle her pain and emotions dealing with such a traumatic event - I wish more people had the strength and perspective to do that instead of forcing kids to be present as much as possible up until the last second. It really should be the kids' choice to say "I can't deal with this yet" and for adults to respect that. Good for you!
It sounds from your posts like you, he, and your stepmom have found a good balance for peacefully saying goodbye - with support and respite for all concerned. It doesn't make the process easy, but it does make it easier.
Hugs. We're all here for you as you need us.
