Hi everyone!

Hi, I just found this forum!  I live in Bethlehem Township, looks like there are quite a few other Lehigh Valley people here.  I have my first appointment next Tuesday with the Weight Management Center at LV Hospital Cedar Crest.  Did anyone else have their surgery there?  I have to do the 6 month thing prior to surgery.

Welcome aboard Deb... I just moved from Bethlehem (City) to Whitehall right near the malls.  I had my surgery at Westfield with Dr. Sawyna.  But, I just wanted to welcome you and wish you luck on your journey.  It's a crazy ride, but soooo worth it!!

This is a great group of people who will support you through all types of things surgery related or not.  They will hug you, pick you up when you're down, or give you a good kick in the butt if you need it to get back on track.  Everyone here is like family and we always welcome new members!!

Hope you stick around the boards and get as much information as you can here.  You can never have too much knowledge about this process!

Yeppers there is a LOT of us lehigh folk on the boards!  Welcome!!

I didn't HAVE my surgery at LVH but I do now happen to work there (for about a year I've been working in the Cedar Crest ED...had surgery 2 years ago at Barix)

If you are interested....Liz (who you will see on this board daily!) hosts a cooking class/support group in her home.  She lives in the Easton area...probably about 20-30 mins away from you.  The date changes each month...it's always a Saturday, though...this months happens to be this Saturday, the 26th.  So if you want to meet people face to face, there's that option for you as well.

Good luck with the LVH program - I've heard great things about it...and I am very impressed with the hospital as a whole.

Welcome to the Forum, Deb - the 6 month pre-surgery thing isn't all that bad and really will help prepare you for post-surgery eating, etc. Sounds like you've got it together and are ready!! Best of luck to you...hope to see you post here often.

I think there are lots of folks from your area and this is one of the most supportive boards on OH!  They even allow us New Jerseyan's to post here (lol), seeing as our own board is not quite as active, though I live just over the border in NJ and had surgery in Langhorne. . .
