First Post-op Dr. appt.....

This afternoon I had my first post-op appointment.

The staples came out, that was nothing compared to what I'd been imagining it would be like.

Doc said I'm doing well. I'm down 20 pounds, able to walk daily or as Gene refers to it go hiking. He said the next "walk" he takes with me he's packing his hiking gear since I don't know when to stop and come back home I'm also getting in all my fluids then some most days I'm between 65 and 85 oz of fluids. I would imagine that will change a bit once I can eat more solid foods.

No driving for another week.

I start my pureed stage on Monday. I will be on that from weeks 3 to 8.

I go back to see doc on the 22nd of October, that day they will take labs to see where I am as far as all the different levels they check. I will also find out on that date when I will be able to go back to work. Keeping fingers crossed that I can stay out till the first or second week of November

Hi Laureen,
Thanks, I feel like I'm doing pretty good Today didn't get off to such a great start. The visiting nurse called and I had to wait for her, bummer. But I'm discharged so I won't have to wait anymore. then I get really tired and fell asleep on the couch, I just woke up thought the clock said 4 but it's not, so I can still get out for a walk

Yes, I'll see you next weekend. I'm looking forward to coming. I made sure Gene had it in his book!

Thanks Pam,
I am really enjoying my walking. This is the first time in 3 years I've been able to walk without pain, it's amazing and I'm enjoying being outside again.

Next will be tackling my gardens they are such a mess from not being able to work in them for a few years.
