Just a quick update, I want to thank everyone again for giving me such great support when my boxer April died so suddenly a few months ago. I have signed up with a boxer rescue group and picked up my first dog which I will be fostering for an indefinate time period. So far she is working out great, housebroken, gets along with my poodle and my cats. Walking her is burning calories as her leash manners could use alot of work. So the adventure begins!

Chris,

Working with a rescue group like that can be such a wonderful and fulfilling thing!  Truly a win-win for all concerned.  Good for you!

Karen,
I am amazed and appalled at how many animals, not just dogs and cats that need to be rehomed. It does feel good to be involved  in an activity where I can contribute something positive, though I suspect I will be benefiting as much as the dogs.

Good for you Chris, glad it's working out.   Rescue groups do much needed work.   The leash manners may be a blessing in disguise (for you).    Onward!

Jackie,
I can see myself coming to the next support meeting with the muscles of my left arm 3 times the size of my right! That is if my arm isn't dislocated first! I wish I had some of Cesear Milan's mojo.

Congrats!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Thank you. I put a pair of rollerblades on my xmas request list. I have what is currently just a fantasy of rollerblading with the dogs. Only time will tell as I have never rollerbladed yet.

Thanks. Right now kennel cough is rearing it's ugly head, so I swithed from a collar to a body harness to take pressure off of her throat. Getting Bella spayed might also have to be put off for a week.

Once the leash manners are conquered, you can up the ante by adding a jog to the pace!!
I can walk up to 6 greyhounds at a comfortable walking pace.  Two who are used to walking together at a faster pace.
