Hi everyone,

In my book for calcium chewables, one of the options is Bariatric Advantage.  It says to take 4 a day.

Does anyone know if this is for the lozenges or the bites.  I beleive the lozenges have 400 mg per lozenge and the bites have 250mg.

Please let me know, I would like to order these.

Thanks

Well, that's for the lozenges, which are fairly large.  BUT... once you're on "real" food (per my nutritionist), you probably don't have to take that many.  You have a calcium goal (just like your protein and fat goals) and take the supplements only to the level you need.  For me, that averages out to be 2 per day, because I do consume a lot of calcium-bearing foods like dairy and broccoli.

For now, you may need the whole 4 (just don't take within 6 hours of iron, if you're taking iron supplements), but be aware that you may need fewer in the future.

You might also try the different flavors if your nutritionist stocks them.  I personally found the cinnamon to be the best.  The trick for ALL of them is to soften them a little bit in your mouth first - otherwsie they're powdery.

Karen, thanks.  Yes they are very powerdery and I don't like them very much.

Are the cinnamon flavored  Lozenges you have from Bariatric Advantage website?

Thanks.

I get them from Barix, but they're the same thing.

Much less powdery (and better tasting) if you suck on them first :-).

Thanks Nicole.

I ordered the lozenges that Karen takes.

I am so glad she mentioned about letting it melt before chewing.  All that citrate was driving me nuts.

I was also taken flinstones chewables and couldn't take them anyone so I bought centrum chewables.  iw ill try them tomorrow.  Hopefully, they will be better.

I wonder how long before I get away from the chewables and can just take the regular vitamin pills?

Thanks.
Geoff
