Dr. Ramanathan UPMC Magees??

Well life was great for me up until last week.....I was banded 4 years ago and have lost over 200 lbs.......Then the bottom fell out of my life....
After many months of severe reflux and heartburn (which meds would not help) I went for a series of tests.....Well last Thursday I found out I will lose my band!
Long story short I was banded in Mexico and thought things were done correct and all was good....but it is now not looking like that...
Thank god for my surgeon and Dr. Ramanathan who agreed at my general surgeons request to take on my case!
Now I face the uncertanty of everything....and it all must happen quickly...I have a VERY LARGE hiatal hernia that must be fixed asap, because the doctors are afraid of it strangulating...sp??
And I need to decide if being rebanded is worth the risk or if I should convert to a sleeve>>>>> RNY is out of the question for me because I have Crohn's disease!
So if there is anyone out there that can give me some advice or has used Dr. Ramanathan I would love to hear from you!!

     Thanks for your hugs and thoughts....It has really been a tough week...I am trying hard not to take it out on those who are close to be but I know I have been a real pain......Just so frustrating after being so successful for the first 4 years.....

I have met Dr. Ramanathan and he's a great and very knowledgable man. He did my good friend's RNY and she has been completely successful. On top of that, my best friend's mom works in the Magee Bariatric office and she said Ramanathan would be the first person she would go to if she needed surgery.
He's a great Dr, as all of the Dr's at Magee are. You will be in good hands t here.
