How do you know if you passed the psych eval?
So I had my psych eval a week and a half ago and I'm just wondering if you ever hear if you "officially" pass?
My psych doc (Dr. Bentz) at LGH didn't say - you're good to go but also didn't say we're concerned or you wont pass. Has anyone not passed - and if so, would you mind sharing how you found out about that? For those that have passed - did you find out or did you assume no news was good news?
Side note - started supervised diet with the family doc on the same day - that was a joke!!! They didn't even ask me a single question. I stepped on a scale and they took my blood pressure and was done. So glad I get the opportunity to work with the NUT too. Whatever insurance needs - they'll get it one way or another!

Mine told me right then and there.
I would imagine that if you hadn't passed the test you would have been told so
I'm sorry that your PCP isn't taken more of an interest. I don't think I would have made it without mine. he was one of my biggest supporters
Good luck on your journey

The psychologist I went to had her own WLS and we just talked and she asked questions. Felt very comfortable. Then toward the end of the session she was making suggestions and finally said. "I think you will do well so I am recommending you. I you have any questions call."
You`re paying the bill. Why didn`t you ask?

I wouldn't be too worried about the pysch exam. I think the main thing they are looking for is to ensure you understand that this surgery is not an end-all, but a tool that you have to work.
I would be patient. If you really feel like you can't wait, call your surgeon's office and ask if they got the paperwork back, and what other paperwork you need from others.

I'm with just about everyone else....my doc was a "quack" though...seriously...I think he would have approved a monkey had they known the right sign language to sign to him, LOL. After waiting for 1 1/2 hours AFTER my initial appointment...he put me into a room w/ my husband...we talked for 10 mins...he pulled out a piece of paper that had a bunch of "fill in the blanks" (such as my name...the procedure I wanted done...etc) and he filled in the appropriate blanks...and then handed it to me and said "you should do fine you seem to know what you are talking about"
I'd call and find out - and DEMAND documentation either way. Not just to your surgeon, but for you to get a copy of it too (even if you have to go pick it up yourself.....I found it much better to keep records of everything myself as fax machines seem to not like to talk to each other...IE...secretaries don't like to use them)
:)
I'm sure you did fine!!
