I need shopping help ladies!
You can find bargains anywhere. I just got some beautiful tops at Macy's for $12.99, and Ralph Lauren for $20. I agree that Target's clothes suck lately. I also got lucky in Penny's with pants. It's tough trying not to spend too much. I bought 2 pair of pants at Talbots that were marked down from $169 to $35. I need some better clothes for work. Someone on the LW board raves about Style and Company on line. I've never showed there though
Stein Mart http://www.steinmart.com/locations.stml and SYMs have really good quality clothes and great sales when they have them. Both lean towards "flashy w/an attitude". I'm really cheap and really picky I guess...For laid back I just head to Goodwill; I get Talbot jeans, Nordstrom, Lauren and Ann Taylor stuff for $6-8 a pair. I don't believe in the $100 pr. of jeans thing, but that's just me.

Hi Liz,
When I used to wear "regular" sizes, I was a big fan of the Gap - their stuff goes on sale pretty regularly and is so classic you can wear it forever and not be out of fashion. Good discounts online, and the first tuesday of every month, (I think), everything in the store is discounted. Pretty good quality clothes for the price.
I have all my old clothes from there sitting with their fingers (pantlegs?) crossed, waiting for me to have surgery :-)

When I just went shopping I got some really good quality made shirts and stuff at Eddie Bauer. A little pricey for things like sweaters and what not...but I did buy some long sleeve shirts that were heavy. They were $20 each...but right now all of their regular price items are buy one, get one half off....so I bought two for $20 and got two for $10 each which I thought was reasonable.
For jeans and what not I love Old Navy - but I HATE their shirts - thin and flimsy in my opinion.
I was a Kohls junkie for quite some time...Haven't been there lately. Walmart on occassion - their winter stuff such as fleece shirts and what not are generally cheap and hold up well, but otherwise I have problems finding stuff that fits right and/or holds up.
Never had much luck at Target.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Oh - and Eddie's stuff are pretty true to size. In tops I run a small/medium and although I did't try anything ON in Eddie (which is something I ALWAYS do) - I found that just by holding things up I could tell if they were gonna fit or not - and all my tops are a medium there. With the exception of these two REALLY WARM shirts (something about arctic wear or something that mountain climbers use) I actually really liked the mens style more than the womens style...and I tried them on and ended up buying smalls in them.
ETA: And, ahem, I seem to know a non lady friend who would be more than willing to spend the day shopping with you....on FB he was pinned in a quiz as "judy" from the jetsons.
