Any suggestions for my first pureed food tomorrow?
lol my only suggestions - keep it moist (use greek yogurt, broth, No sugar added tomato saucse etc to make it "wet"), experiment! Just because it sounds gross doesn't mean it will taste that way - tuna with a little lite mayo pureed up, meatballs and sauce with ricotta and mozzarella (think meatball parm!), I must admit I didn't like the pureed stage very much - I stuck with things like yogurt, ricotta and pudding. Also remember that these are A LOT denser then anything you have eaten so far so take it slow and take small bites. Measure everything out and stick to the amount - you don't want to over fill you pouch.
Congrats on moving on to a new stage!

Did you get a book from your surgeon?? The nutritionist should have set some kind of parameters such as protein goals, fluid goals, how much you should eat when etc.
I would say about 2 oz or 1/4 cup right now. I remember only being able to eat a few spoonfuls at this stage but my pouchie was always sensitive. You can weigh it or measure with a measuring cup - cup is probably easier since it is going to be runny.
Fear is your best tool early out! Keep the fear as long as you can and you will continue your successing. I am 2 3/4 years out and still fear sugar - I wish that i still feared carbs and fat as well. Fear is what keeps us on track.
Sorry for the novel! lol

Best advice I got at a support group was...what sounds good? Puree it.
For me, it was mashed potatoes with some chicken mixed in and a tablespoon of low fat gravy (from a jar).
Wendy's chili was another good "staple."
I later added fat free refried beans with salsa, ricotta mixed into sf instant pudding, and some soups. (Speaking of soup - one that I loved during that pureed stage now is absolutely repulsive to me - I tried some for lunch today and couldn't get it down.)
Stick with 2 ounces or so at first. Go slowly. You will know if something isn't sitting quite well with you.

Good morning,
I have insomnia, it's 2:46 a.m. - lol
I'm new to pureed foods. I put canned salmon in my Magic Bullet with olive oil, onion powder and an egg. Pureed it. Made little salmon patties and salteed them in olive oil. Delicious and full of protein. I measure out 2 ounces.
I also bought some organic refried beans and measured out 2 ounces. Delicious and also high in protein.
The protein shakes were making me too nauseous, so I've been trying my very best to get protein in by eating the above two dishes and adding in soft cheese. So far, so good, but I do need to slow it down a bit.
Good luck to you.
