Jeez now I feel bad. Everybody changed and I missed the boat. Other then less aches and pains from old injuries now and physically feeling better nothing really changed for me. I always had a small circle of friends. That and how we treat each other is no different almost a year out.

Did I miss out on something?

It's not about changing so much that you lose friends. It's about growing. Values change time goes on. We learn from lessons and mistakes. It's life that changes people. Not just losing weight.

I still have the same best friend I had 17 years ago. Are we the same as we were in high school? NO WAY. But we are still best friends.

I think that is the point I was making. Is that some people see our changes as a direct result of losing weight. When really, it's just learning new things, and appreciating our new abilities that makes the real changes in us.

Ok, maybe that sounded a little "Oprah-like".......but I know what I am trying to say, even if I can't type it! LOL

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I didn't believe it changed me until I had a band 'scare' last month.  It wasn't until I thought I was actually going to lose my band and someone told me, "But Beth, you have made all the lifestyle changes.  Time to burn your old pictures and have a funeral for your 'old' self."   Yes, I have changed.

Physically I have changed - I am stronger.
Emotionally I have changed - I am stronger.

I am only learning now to embrace the changes... like Nicole said a few days ago.  I am a butterfly only just beginning to emerge.

Change is the only "constant" in life.   If we aren't changing, we aren't living.

The dinosaurs didn't change, look what happened.....  the same as would have happened to most of us if we hadn't gotten WLS.
