NO RAIN PLEASE.. bad enough that it is chilly.

I have been promising Siehara that I would take her to Dorney Park for 2 or 3 years and finally decided today was the day to make good on the promise.  Good thinking mom.. it's chilly and looks like it could rain at any minute.  Sure, why not spend $80 to go to an amusement park on such a lovely day.  UGH.  Anyway, that's my day... going to Dorney.  Maybe it won't be crowded.. LOL!

After Dorney, I do need to go to the store to pick up some food for the week.  We are running low and that leads to poor food choices.  I need to get some good dense protein stuff that will keep me full so I am not constantly eating.  I need to break this stall I have been in for the past few weeks.  I haven't been to the gym since Wednesday because of timing but also because I wanted to see if I could "trick" my body a bit.  I will go tomorrow and will be working out with Rocco so I know my first day back will be a good workout.

That's it for me.  Spent time with dad yesterday..  not a good day for him.  Carol said this morning has been not so good so far.  I didn't get to talk to him yet today, he was sleeping when I called.  I'll try again later.

The day hubby and I went to Dorney...we got there, stood on a fairly short line for the first ride we were going on...when it started to DOWNPOUR and they closed the ride.  Went to get something to eat (like everyone else in the park did due to the rain) stood in line there FOREVER...got our food just in time for the rain to stop....went to the next ride we wanted to go on...where the woman on the car that was unloading (and we were going to get on) vomited so they closed that car...basically the first 3 hours at dorney we did nothing but stand in lines and get told to wait.

HOWEVER...the day ended up GORGEOUS and we had a BLAST.  And it wasn't crowded so we basically walked up to every rollercoaster - only waited in line cause we decided to do ONLY front seat rides.

Bring a sweatshirt, and have a BLAST!  And sierrha probably won't mind the chilly weather and water - I know I would - but kids don't care!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Weather today turned out to be good!! Siehara went on the water stuff in the morning when it was still way to cold for me to even think about it, but she didn't care.  She faced some of her own fears getting on big water slides and such.  Then, we headed over to Dorney and met up with 2 of her friends from school  There she faced her fear of rollercoasters.  She went on Steel Force!  That's one hell of a rollercoaster for the first "real" one.  She said she liked it but would probably not go on it again.  I told her that was ok.  I was happy that she at least tried it even if she wouldn't do it again.

She also went on the wild mouse roller coaster thing that's up where the Flying Dutchman was way back in the day.. it's the same type of rollercoaster.  Lots of turns, but only a little bit of dips.  She liked that one much better!! I went on a few rides with her and was happy to see that I could go through the little turnstyles without a problem!!

It actually got hot/humid as the day went on and I almost wished I had brought my suit with.  We went back to Wild Water and she went in the wave pool and did a few more slides and such.  I would have gone in the wave pool and down the lazy river and stuff, but I didn't want to get my clothes all wet.

Oh well... it was all about her having fun and fulfilling a long overdue promise I made to her.  It was a good day!

Good morning everyone!

Settling in for a long day pounding metal.  The idea for a refinement to the bracelets came to me yesterday as the result of some long-term brainstorming and playing, and I want to refine the idea today. I think it's going to work really nicely - i'll post pics when I get them (maybe tonight).

The pig roast last night was a hoot - and it was really a very odd experience in a way, as literally the only sober adult in the (very large) crowd of "bar buddies."  The food was awesome (as I had expected it to be) and everyone was having fun.  I stayed completely away from the dessert table (yay for me!) and when I got "peckish" went for a little more of the pig and a TINY bit of corn pudding (which I'm going to try and make WLS friendly - i think the recipe will adapt pretty well).  It felt good to be able to control my impulses in that type of situation.

I got to catch up with some old friends I hadn't seen in a very long time.  Two guys "hit" on me (haha - they were drunk, what can I say) at least in jest - they know Eddie and knew how ridiculous it was... but still it was funny.

Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday today!
