***Labor Day Roll Call***
Good morning all!
Well we walked into work sunday and there was literally NO ONE in the waiting room...and we had about 12 of our 40 beds open. I looked at the charge nurse and said "It's a SUNDAY night...on a holiday weekend...with a full moon. This is NOT a good set up."
And so far I was right...the first hour or so was gorgeous - and since then we have been non stop the rest of the night. "luckily" i'm in an area now (as of 11pm) "closing it down" meaning I only have the left over patients who are waiting for rooms or doctors to come and see them and what not. Good news...I now get to hang w/ only 2 patients and not worry about getting just about anybody else. Bad news...I am the ONLY one over here as of 11pm...so when I had things to do on all 3 of my patients...nobody was around to do it. Oh well. It all got done.
When I get home I'll do the litter boxes and then plan to watch half an hour or so of the labor day telethon. We watch every year (jerry lewis labor day mda telethon) because my uncle had deuschenne muscular dystrophy and the MDA was invaluable to my father's family during that difficult time, up until he passed away - and was helpful during the death process as well. Soooooo...we watch every year and try to make donations and what not.
Back for my last night of work tonight....gawd I don't wanna go already! LOL
Enjoy your long weekend and the last official day before school for many of you - or at least - school w/o any students.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Good Morning Pam,
Well, I forgot to put my sheets in the dryer in time to go to bed, so I was waiting for them to dry, and now am waiting for the blanket. I could probably just use the sheets, but sometime in the night, I would wake up with a chill, and prefer to hit the bed with the blanket to start with.
Monday has me doing absolutely nothing important. One last day of vacation. I will make sure to get to an AA meeting, but other than that, just tidying up around here, and that is about it for the must dos. I will be sure to hit WalMart to get Splenda, or the WalMart brand of it, and tea bags for my iced tea. I will also be sure to pack my lunch for Monday.
I hope everyone has a safe Labor Day.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Good morning Pam and Trish - I am up early and had some angry dreams - I have NO idea why, but now I am just hoping to be relaxed and calm today. I need to get to the market for everyone's lunches for the week and plan my food as well. I am sooo looking forward to being back on a food schedule. I did much better than I thought I would this summer, however, I alawys do better with a set schedule, hmmmm.....wonder why I am a math teacher....:)
Besides the market - we are getting the back room, formally known as Joshua's room, ready for painting pink and lavendar. Hopefully we will get Emily in that room by next weekend. She is soooo excited about it! And Molly has very little patience as we purchae things for her brother and sister's new rooms. She is next, but with her emtional issues, waiting and seeing her brother and sister get stuff is very challenging for her.
My last thing on the agenda today is being sure that my kids get a decent nights sleep - which is always a challenge on the night before school with all the butterflies going around.....(And this year, they will not only be mine!) One off to middle school, and one off to High School. Trish - keep an eye out for Molly, I have a feeling she will be well known pretty quickly! She is in section 612 with Carla McManamin. I am sooo happy to have an ally here who can keep me up to date on my kid! :) Thanks Trish! :)
I hope you all have a nice and relaxing Labor Day. The next few weeks are coming fast and furious! :)

Good Morning All!
I'm with you Pam - already dreading going back to work tomorrow!
Today has us just relaxing - Chris is calling the friend that was supposed to come over and cancelling. Yesterday at my Grandmother's I spent most of the day curled up on a lounge chair napping. Soo sleepy and nauseous. So today Chris is going to mow the grass and I am going to get food ready for the week ahead. That's about it!
HAppy Labor Day All!

Good Morning Ladies -
I'm up early this morning too. We had a long day yesterday, so I ended up going to bed pretty early...so...I'm up.
SO and I had such a nice day yesterday. We had been wanting to take a ride up to the Reading Pagoda since neither of us has seen it since we were little. I shocked the heck out of him by asking if we could take the Harley rather than the car. I haven't been on the Harley for a long time - I was afraid of what I looked like from behind. Anyhow, I weighed in yesterday morning and according to my scale, I am down 51 pounds ! That's 46 plus the 5 that I lost the week before surgery (and I'm counting it ! ) I had mentioned that I wanted to be down 50 pounds before I gave it a try.
We ended up going to breakfast first and then up to the Pagoda, took the long way home and stopped off at a local fruit stand for peaches. It was so nice to spend the day together.
Today we don't have much planned. I'll probably make SO breakfast and then we may think about doing some paint prep work up at his place.
Hope everyone has a great day !

Good Morning Pam,
Nothing happening here except for this dreaded paper. I am soooooooooooooo looking forward to the end. Hoping to have a decent copy for Gene to start reading today. I think it's terrible but we'll see after he reads it.
Hope everyone has a great last day of the long weekend....
