For some reason, I've seen Suan everytime. Make sure they keep you on track with your appoinments. Mine ended up getting delayed 5 months because I fell through the cracks. Let me know if you have any questions.

I know you had mentioned that once before.
I don't understand what you mean when you say 'fell through the cracks'.
I thought if you attend the monthly nutrition appts, and had all of your testing done on time, and there aren't any problems... then you meet the surgeon and eventually get a date for surgery.
I know things can happen though..
How did they let you fall through the cracks?

The classes ended very close to the  Christmas holidays.  I had to have my A1C level checked again and even though I did it in plenty of time (so they told me), they lost it and I had to have it sent again and there was a delay. They would not schedule me with the surgeon until my A1C level was below 8 which I understand, but by the time I got to schedule my appointment with the surgeon the holiday vacation was upon us and they were off for 2 weeks . Rather than schedule my surgery for January, they just scheduled a first appointment with Dr Rogers and she didn't have an opening for 4 weeks which would have brought me to February. Because I teach at a university, I then had to wait until May because I don't get time off during the semester. So I started in June and just a few weeks made the world of difference to me. I kept telling people, but . . . they are just very, very busy. Actually the same thing happened to someone else in my pre op group. She was on Chantix to quit smoking and they wouldn't schedule her surgery until she tested clear on her urine. They lost her test too and in the meantime, she lost her job and her insurance. Not sure what ever happened to her.
My only complaint about the program is that I think they are way too busy. I don't know about your experience but I always felt rushed.

The treatment I received at the hospital was EXCELLENT! You will be in great hands. The nurses are wonderful. Dr Roger's "fellow" stayed with me the entire time I had a swallow test. He was terrific.

Wow... That's terrible.
I heard that things could happen like that. Sorry that you were so delayed. That must have been disappointing.
I have only gone to one nutrition appt with Susan. My second month appt is Sept.21. (with Kerry)
My last class will be in Jan.
So I assume that I would be scheduled for surg some time after that.
I did feel rushed during the first appt. It was a group of us...  and then myself with Susan for a few minutes.
We received our book and the homework sheet.
I just started my food journal this month.
I'll have to stay on top of things (them) so I don't experience the same.
Thank you for that knowledge...
I hope you're doing well with your weight loss and your health.
Let's keep in touch, Susie

Sure thing. Actually, I have to admit that it worked out in the end. I had the enitre summer to recuperate and get into a routine. And it was funny seeing the reaction from students and collegues after 3 months. Oh by the way, Hershey will send you a questionaire at some point asking you to evaluate the staff/program/hospital, etc. I did tell them that I think they are taking on way to many patients and that they either need to slow it down or add more help.

Make sure you let him know that you are aware of the emotional eating, and that you've gotten some therapy for it, and that you consciously and purposely watch how you are feeling and eating.
Just be very honest. Good luck... if you need anything else, Im here..
