Are our labs fasting??

hey...I am too lazy to call Braders office and I am planning on fasting anyway...but are our labs for Brader (or any of them for that matter) fasting?   Its been 12 years of labs numerous times each year for my thyroid cancer and I STILL can not remember if they are fasting or not,  so I always fast.  You would think after 3 or 12 years...I could get it straight.

Parathyroid (PTH) is definately fasting.

CBC's are not
Electrolytes are not
Lipid Panel is fasting
Iron studies are not

So it depends on what was ordered.

I know we always tell our patients to go first thing in the morning before breakfast to get labs done. Even if what we ordered is not fasting. Our physicians prefer fasting for all labs even if it's not required.

Yes, I think our blodd work up is fasting at least I always do when I get them done.

Okey dokey....fasting it is :)  Liz...I think there is thyroid stuff on it now that you mention it....sucks since I just gave 5 vials of blood a week ago for my thryoid pannel. 

And...why is it that the only time I get hungry is when I can't eat?? LOL   Ya think its a head game my body is playing with me??

I had my labs for Dr Pupkova done 2 weeks ago, and it was fasting. 

Dr. Marymor said no need to fast for mine....however every doc is different. I say make it early i nthe AM and fast just in case. That or call Dr. Brader and ask

I just got mine in the mail too will go next week. My appt with him is at the end of oct when is yours?

I see him next Thursday morning....the woman took 13 vials of blood....I am pretty sure there is no blood left in my body LOL
