Almonds
I think normally on the back of the package they will say "one ounce...approximately ____ amount of almonds"
However, if they don't say that...I'm not quite sure what it is. Most grocery stores sell cheapy plastic food scales...I would pick one of them up, measure out an ounce...count 'em up and then divide the bag up into single serving sizes.
Oh, and because of the fat content that nuts have (good fat....) they can spoil easy in the cabinet - so if you buy a bigger bag of them, stick your preportioned sacks in the freezer.
Now that I am thinking about it...I think there is a company (I forget which one) that sells nuts in a round, tube like container. The side of the container is clear and it has markings on it - in ounces. You could pick one of them up and see how many nuts are in each of their premarked areas.....
I'm not sure if I'm explaining any of this well in type.......

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
