OT: Quick update
Bri went in at 11:15 this morning...procedure was done by noon. Got him home by 12:30...got him set up w/ pain meds/ice etc, talked to our parents and then spent an hour and half doing errands for other prescriptions, the protein shakes, etc.
He does have some significant swelling, but that was to be expected and why the ice is so important. I must say - he's being a VERY good patient this time around. He did bleed for a little bit longer than anticipated...but not to bad.
Oh, and kudos to the boy for being such a good patient even MORE so...because he quit smoking as of last night (Tuesday night) at 7pm and was not able to eat or drink anything after midnight last night. (And yes, my quit date is tomorrow....I was not about to attempt both of us quitting on the same exact day AND do it on a day when I was up for who knows how many hours....)
Doctors orders for dinner? Ice cream. Poor baby!
Spent the evening attempting to stay awake on the couch (both of us) He went to bed 20 mins ago...and I'll be following shortly. Had to eat something to take my meds (for the never ending bladder infection)
I'll probably be up (and hence online) sporatically (sp?) through the night for "medication rounds" so I'll check back here sometime then.
Thanks again!
Pam

So glad to hear that Brian is doing well, all things considered. Also, I am so proud of both of you for quitting smoking. That takes more courage than when I quit drinking. I am told that nicotine is more addictive than any other drug. Please feel free to PM me if you need to whine, cry, or hit something...or just need a pep talk. I had a social work professor who shared with her class that she quit by attending NA meetings, because they do not specify or care what your drug is. She used the meetings and the 12 Steps to get off cigarettes. When I had her as a professor, she was nicotine free for 10 years, and that was four years ago.
Sorry to babble. Just had to give you a huge pat on the back.
Huggles,
