Accountability Time

When I saw Dr. Marymor, for my three year check-up, I was gut level honest about my struggles with comfort eating and my relapses with the alcohol the past two years.  That was when he recommended a website and book, which a couple people asked me about but I never got back to them.  I will look them up and get back to you on those things.  I am dog-tired right now and forget my own children's names.

But, he did recommend I count my carbs and limit them to 150-200 grams a day.  That has been soooooo hard to do since I have been actually trying to do so.  I have really struggled with it.  For a week now, I have had sugar cravings, and have not always successfully gone without a nibble of sugar.  I dump if I have too much sugar.

So, I am going to hold myself accountable to you beautiful people and check in regularly to let you know how I am making out.  Please feel free to encourage, or kick my butt, as you see fit.

Today I had 176 grams of carbs.  The beauty is, I have no desire for sugar today.  That is a first in over a week.  I also drank over 80 ounces of water.  AND, I got my protein in.

I am so grateful to have the technology to communicate with all of you, plus to go to My Fitness Pal to keep a record.

Check in with you all tomorrow.

Huggles,
Trish

I am right there with you!  The farther out we get, the harder it is to be "mindful" of what we do each day....water, food, exercise...etc...

I need to get back on track with keeping track of my meals....even when I plan things I find myself going off the schedule of what I had planned on eating.  I always know my protein and fluid for the day - but carbs I definately do not.

I will start on Thursday with you.  Have no idea how or where to start today considering I worked all night and therefore have been eating...and will be up most of the day...

Great idea, thanks Trish!

Sounds like you're back on the right track, Trish - please don't beat yourself up too much about it - you're heading back in the right direction. I had gotten off track really bad in the month of August with everything going on, but I re-committed to logging my food, watching the carbs and getting back to exercise as of Sept 1 as well. I keep my food logs on my PC and updated everything so I could start fresh, and made it to Curves last night - couldn't believe it had been a month since I was there.

So we'll do this together - you know you have the full support of everyone out here. Take care!!
