That icky stuck feeling...
I've been fine for weeks.
I haven't had any issues at all... now all of a sudden everything I eat feels like it's stuck. Even my greek yogurt kinda hurts. I've pretty much coughed up everything semi-solid I've eaten for the last 2 days. Yesterday I made homemade sloppy joes... Today I tried some turkey roll-ups and some peaches and they just sat there and hurt until I coughed them back up.
I'm guessing a stricture? I dunno... I guess I'll call the Dr. in the morning. I'm just kinda bummed because I've been doing so well.

sometimes once something gets stuck once the pouch gets a bit irritated and inflamed - try 24 hours of liquids and then real food again - if that doesn't do the trick call the surgeon. My Dr has reccomended this for me in the past.
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Also - some warm tea or soup might sooth it as might an ice pop.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say to call your doc sooner rather than later.
I'm thinking the same thing you are - that you are beginning to get a stricture. Considering you are coughing everything up....hmmmm....
I do hope you are OK...and this doesn't mean you AREN'T doing well thus far or are "stopping" doing well. Rather...just a minor set back which can quickly be overcome.
I hope you feel better soon!!! And definately until you call the doc stick to liquids....see how that does that way you have things that you have done and the results of those things when you talk to the doctor - they will probably want to know such things :)

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

You can call the docs office - they SHOULD have an answering service in case of emergency and can get in touch w/ one of the on call docs.
I don't blame you for being nervous....but you'll get through this.
Happy thoughts and best wishes! Update us! 610-969-6264 is my cell - feel free to text me w/ an update if you can't get to a computer or if you just need to talk.

Thanks Pam. I saved your number in my cell. I have a feeling it may come in handy someday! :)
I was able to get in to see my surgeon yesterday. (His office was so great about fitting me in.) He scheduled me for an EDG tomorrow afternoon. The first thing he mentioned was a ulcer, but he thinks a stricture is a definite possibility.
I'll update tomorrow once I know more.

Calling the doctor is definately a good idea. I did develop a stricture at one month post op and I waited three days to call. (I know really dumb) Don't do what I did, by the time I called I was really dehydrated too. As far as a stricture goes, No big deal. They put you to sleep, do a scope and stretch it out and you feel all better. No problem at all. The dehydration was worse. Hang in there it will get better, just pay attention to your body and what it is telling you.
