I sent this to my nutritionist and am wondering if anyone else had something similar?

Ok checking to see if I'm doing something wrong or not.     I have been getting in all my liquids,  all my protein and all my vitamins.  First couple of days were difficult but got easier.  So now its Monday and many times today I have 'hunger' pangs.  Or that is what I feel they are.  They feel like hunger pangs they act like hunger pangs but I could have sworn I was not suppose to be hungry for a bit.   So what am I feeling?  Is it possible its another pain and i just think it hunger?

My general menus:
breakfast:  Grits with a scoop of protein powder or Yogurt with scoop of Protein (calcium, multiV)  (12-15 grams protein)
Snack:       4 oz protein shake  (12-15 grams protein)
Lunch:       4 ozCream of some kind of soup with a scoop of protein powder (Iron) (12-15 grams protein)
Snack:       Other 4 ox of protein Shake (12-15 grams protein)
Dinner:       4 oz Cream of some kind of soup with scoop of protein powder (Calcium, Multi V) (12-15 grams protein)
Snack:      Pudding with scoop of protein powder (12-15 grams protein)

Between each of these i drink 4 oz liquid an hour   Suggestions?  This is nornal just stay on track?  It will adjust?  Thanks in advance

Hey there! You are doing great!! Those hunger pangs are 1 of 2 things - head hunger (it is a devishly real feeling!) or the old stomach adjusting.

Yourmenu looks great as long as you are getting at least 64 ounces of fluid (too tired to add! lol) The only thing that I would watch is the grits - they are pure carbs. If you can stick to protein for breakfast now (and later) you will feel less hungry during the day.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the info Liz.  I know Grits are on my list of things I can eat in my "Lancaster General Bible"... (that and cream of wheat and Gods I hate cream of wheat).  I'll just do yogurt or a shake.  I was hoping to add some of the 'salty' things in instead of all the sweet.

I hope its just my new stomach adjusting.   If I get the 'dull ache' then i'll throw more liquid at it to make it stop getting all grumbly.  :-)

Hi!

We have the same surgery date 1 year apart and it looks as if we also had about the same start weight. If it's any encouragement, I'm only a few stubborn pound shy of my goal by my first anniversary.

As for the hunger pains, it's likely A. just in your head or B. your thirsty. (apparently us over eaters mistake thirst for hunger)

Good luck!

I do remember strong hunger pangs early out.  And nobody could tell me it was "head hunger".  It felt real to me.  Just fight it off, it will subside.  Drinking as much as you can will help.  Good luck.

104 lbs lost now Maintenance BABY!!!!

Echoing a lot of what has been said here... your menu looks pretty good to me. Try and up your liquid a little bit. I would be surprised if that doesn't help with the hunger...

I am six weeks out and find that the "hunger" feeling kind of comes and goes.

Some days I find myself almost fantasizing about food.

But days like yesterday, I could barely finish my Greek yogurt for lunch, and didn't even want a snack till 4 p.m.

Go figure!
