48 hours and counting

Good morning everyone.

Yep, in 48 hours I will be leaving for the hospital.  Cold seems to have held back.  I had some very minor scratchiness in my throat but everything else seems very clear, so I think I am okay so far.

I have been drinking lots of soup.  I am going to add some tea in today.

I have been releatively calm so far.  I usually am a mess by this point....lol

I have some last minute stuff to take care of today.  I am glad I took off from work today and tomorrow.

Tomorrow I go on my liquid diet for the day.

It still doesn't feel real yet.  Maybe that is why I don't feel nervous.

How did you guys feel right before your surgery?  Were you extremely nervous?

Nervous, excited, terrified, worried . . . you name it! Good for you for being calm. You will do great! Just take it one day at a time.

You're doing great Geoff.  Keep taking care of yourself and doing your best to stay relaxed.  One minute at a time, sometimes just one breath at a time.  You're almost there!!!  We're making room on the loser's bench.  Thinking of you and praying for a quick, easy surgery with you back home quickly.

k

regards, keri

I was actually pretty calm.  The only time I had a slight nervousness was in the hospital in the OR and then... I fell asleep.

Congrats and well wishes for a great surgery.

Good luck! Glad to hear that the cold stayed away too!!

I was totally calm. Infact my blood pressure was low in the OR prep room and the nurses were teasing me - I knew I made the right decision and was SO ready to get on with my new life! I was extremly excited but totally calm.

Just remember if you do start to get worked up and nervous wednesday morning remind yourself (or have whoever is taking you remind you) that you made this decsion calmly and rationally after tons of research and it is the right decision for you.

Best of luck!! DO you have someone that can let us know you are out of surgery and resting comfortably? if you want - someone call call or text me 610-462-1204 and I'll let everyone know.

Congratulations Geoff - you're almost there and after a very long wait! You're going to be just fine - glad you're feeling better and taking care of yourself - it will definitely help in your healing and recovery process.

Wishing you all the best - I thought I was calm but I had a slight case of nerves by the time I got to the hospital, but the staff will calm you down and make you feel okay.

We're all rooting for you, praying for you and wishing you all the best.

Kathy
