Lately everytime I eat something I feel like crap afterwards. I know I just posted I dont get sick but what I consider sick is being reallly really sick like  you cant move sick. Anyways, after I eat I feel that my belly makes more and more noises and turns on me. I have to lay down and relax after I eat and It feels like I can taste my food after Ie at for a good hour even after I start drinking again. I think that is so gross. Nothing tastes the same anymore and I get this nasty aweful taste in my mouth once in awhile and its so ******g nasty. What is that taste? I use to have it all the time and it let up for awhile and now that nasty taste has come back and its nasty. Can anyone explain to me what that taste is? No matter what I eat or drink its the same nasty taste in my mouth. So gross and lately its making me sick ot my stomach and I dont want to eat or drink anything. What is wrong with me?

the nasty taste probably means your in ketosis.  that actually good for a while, but it does give you nasty breath and nasty tast in your mouth.  ketosis means your body is burning the stored fat --- good thing.  i'm sure some of the more technical guru's can give you more info.

could also mean that you have sinus drainage in your pouch
always ask your surgeon about these things they know you best

I Agree with the other ladies about the ketosis.

AS far as the feeling sick to your stomach every time you eat - I would guess that you are eating too much or too fast or something too dense. What is an example of your daily menu?

Hope that you are feeling better soon!

Oh and after you eat brush your teeth - that really helped me when I was in ketosis. That or get some sugar free mints - lifesavers  makes some - they come in a green bag.

I also feel sick when I eat something, could it be from eating to fast?  I am only 4 weeks out and have just been put on solid foods.

You could be eating to fast...or it could be the fact that your pouch and system is just now getting used to food considering  you were just put on solid food.

I remember feeling sick for a good week after each "food stage" I was put on for at least a couple of days, if not longer, early out.

Now, they only time I feel sick is if I eat to fast or if I eat the wrong thing (eating to fast is a definite problem for me....I normally stay away from the wrong food, however)

A meal should take you at least 20mins...up to 30 to eat.  Denser things such as meat proteins will sit heavier than say a cup of milk.  so you'll have to play around with amounts at each time and how long it takes you to eat.

Feel better!

Well my menu is like this I have been usually eating shrimp, yogurt, CIB already made Shakes with no sugar added found them in the store and they have 13g of protein and I drink about 3 of them a day plus the shrimp on occassion, ground turkey with spag sauce and cheese, my greek yogurt, salad with chicken in it, eggs scrambled with cheese, sometimes I have some turkey bacon, i also eat cod fish fillets. Thats about it..kinda boring..and I eat chilli too. I have also tried taco meat with cheese and taco sauce.

You may have developed a lactose intolerance - try making your CIB with soy milk. Eggs can do a number on a post op pouch - at 2 1/2 years out I still have problems with them, same with ground meats.

Just some thoughts...

Maybe it might be the salad but I dont eat that much of it. Im wondering if it is the milk like Liz said because I had an issue with that when I put it in my shakes after my surgery.
