Down 118lbs on my 1 year surgiversary!
I almost forgot that today was the day! I guess it's time for an update.
First I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have supported me along the way. Dennis and Brian - thanks for talking with Thorpe during the supporters support group meeting at the Pilgrimage last year. With out your encouraging words to my hubby this would have never been possible.
My journey has been a pretty uneventful one. Pretty much textbook all the way! Thankfully!!!
My biggest tip: Do NOT keep a scale in your house!!!!!!! I still only weigh myself at my doc's office once every two or three weeks. At my new job there is a scale in the bathroom and I know if I get on it I done. I will get on it each and everyday.
Two weeks ago I went back into surgery. This time I had my lower jaw moved forward 8mm and two implants put in. This was my oral surgeon’s first RNY patient. His biggest concern was that I could get in enough liquid through a straw. Most patients live on milk shakes. Plenty of calories and enough fluid. I ended up eating (drinking) protein shakes, milk shakes made with NSA ice cream and PB2, cream of wheat and water. Yum!! I did lose a few more pounds. But on the 6th day after my surgery I did go to the ER because I was not feeling well. I got two bags of fluid and then went home. I felt much better after the fluids. Today I am finally able to start eating real food again.
I plan to keep moving, eating small healthy portions and taking my vitamins.
Happy Surgiversary Keri!!!!
