Newbie...almost there!
Hi everyone! My name is Jana...and I'm 4 out of 6 months into my lifestyle classes. I started at 265 pounds, and am 5'6" and 42 years old . I lost 5 pounds my first month, then stopped smoking, gained 5, and now have taken 4 off. So I am down to 261 as of now.
I have met with my surgeon, had my psych eval, my endoscope, my chest x-ray, EKG, and sleep study. All I have left is 2 lifestyle classes, and my nutritional consult and everything will be submitted tot he insurance company, which is UPMC.
I will be having my surgery at UPMC Magee Hospital by Dr. Carol McCloskey.
I am a stay at home mom in PIttsburgh, PA to two wonderful kids, who are 10 and 8. My husband is a flight-nurse, and super supportive of my venture.
I feel like I have been struggling with my weight most of my entire life. When I look back at things, I can't even seem to recall when I got fat...I'm sure it was a gradual process...but it sure took a downward spin. I had a total knee replacement in 2007, and it is my orthopedic surgeon who is referring me for the surgery. I do not want to have another knee replacement!
Well...I'm rambling now. But just wanted to say HI and introduce myself...and looking forward to being a big loser! And how!
