It all depends on the product for me.  There are some with sugar alcohols that I can tolerate without any issue what so ever...and then there are some that throw me over the edge....however, most of the time I have no problems with them.

I'm so sorry the pudding made you sick!!!  No fun!!!  I'm always careful with malitol---it always did a number on me pre-op, and I'm afraid of what it could do now.  Thanks for the reminder to be diligent in reading labels!

My husband works as a professional in the baking industry and has always cautioned me about their "no sugar added" products, which use maltitol. Some of the effects that go with dumping can happen to anyone if you consume too much. However, he says that maltitol is probably less risky than sorbitol or other sugar alcohols where that is concerned.
