magic bullet
Margie,
OH yeah... it's a true lifesaver! Immediately after surgery, ALL of my meals were made using it. Did everything from pureeing soups to making smoothies, to chopping veggies and meats as ingredients.
Now (4 mos out), I use it daily for making my daily protein shake (which I make with mil**** cubes, frozen fruit, and protein powder, so they're really yummy and thick!).
Honestly, I don't know what I did before I had it! Best $$ I ever spent!

My mom bought me one as a 'pre-surgery' gift and I love it - it has a lot of extra cups and stuff I don't use but the mixer itself is a wonderful tool to have. Makes the best protein shakes around and is easy to store and clean. Well worth the money - check Kohl's for the best prices - they put them on sale a lot and that's the cheapest I've seen them.
I know alot of people swear by it and Macys usually has them on sale but I use my Cruisinart and it works just fine the only perk that I can see is that you can use the plastic glass to drink from but to me as long as I have the Cruisinart and it serves my purpose why spend more money? Just my opinion I think why spend money if you have something that works the same,
No secret - you get 2 sets of blades with it. The set of blades that's the "flattest" (which is said to "shave ice" ) doesn't work as well to chop up big cubes in a shake as the taller blades. Use the taller blades and your ice will be nicely blended in to your shake in no time.
If you've got a costco membership, it's worth looking at there. I'm pretty sure it was under $50 for the "big set" with all the accessories.

There are several personal sized blenders on the market that work just as well as the bullet. I went through 3 blenders my first year when I finally bought a Back to Basic (both full-size and personal size). At 3 years out I still have a protein shake every morning and the B t B is perfect for those trying to get out the door mornings.
Good luck with your journey/
Jeanne
