Ok so the antibiotics seem to be helping...and my bladder seems to be a bit more productive...instead of it feeling like a 50 ton boulder is sitting on my bladder it now feels like a 30 ton one...LOL....

Anyways...I have been drinking lots of cranberry juice and water to help flush the infection out of my system but I still feel awful bloated and now my pouch is all prissy and I am burping up a storm....IS THIS NORMAL????? CAUSE I AM STARTING TO FREAK OUT A LITTLE HERE...

Sorry...just never had such issues with my internal plumbing before and it is making me a little nervous....

Thanks for the advice and help in advance!!!

Much luv!!!

the antibiotic and all that cranberry juice could be doing a number on your pouch and digestive track. Try taking pepcid with it for the remainder of the RX. I always take pepcid when I am on an antibiotic - just to be on the safe side. Antibiotics give me a prissy pouch and intestinal distress sometimes too. OH and the even better part - yeast infections - the joy of being a woman! I up my yogurt during this time too -that helps to replace some of the "good bacteria" that is also killed from the antibiotic.

Hope that you are 100% really soon!

I can remember taking a purple pill that made me pee orange and finding myself singing "Somewhere over the rainbow"  only kidding about the singing gosh if I sang I would clear the room fast! I would be careful with the cranberry juice.  Bladder infections were pretty scary for me too but they do clear up.  Hang in there sweetie and feel better.

Get acidpholis (it is the good bacteria in yogurt)... it is in a pill form- take 2 with each main meal... go to rite-aid, cvs etc... and get it- they all carry it... also ask them for the happy pee pee pill that makes your pee orange... size of a M&M... that you take when you have a bladder infection... then take it (oh sometimes the pill is smaller- depends on the brand) but tha pill helps to numb the pain and for me gets rid of the bloated feeling... and ditch the cranberry juice... and eat blueberries... they have more good stuff in them vs the juice...

I'm am the queen of bladder infections... they suck like hell... but that is what I get for being born with a short pee pee straw lol...

I'm in agreeance w/ the antibiotic thing regarding your prissy pouch.  Happens to me on antibiotics too.

Shannon's advice on the acidophilus is a good one.  Although it is found in yogurts, it's not much, so the pills are actually a good idea.  Yeast infections occur when there is not enough "good bacteria" left in your system which allows the fungal stuff to go wild (You always have the "ability" to have a yeast infection, but the good bacteria is wiped out by the antibiotics, it doesn't know the difference between good and bad, and the good bacteria is what keeps the yeast at bay)

Cranberry juice....there's really not enough of the enzyme or whatever it is in cranberry juice to change the acid/base balance of your urine (which is what helps with urinary tract infections, acid/base imbalance)  A better choice is the cranberry pills you can get in the store (along with the acidophilus)  I've never heard of the blueberry thing like Shannon suggested, but it makes sense considering blueberries are some of the highest in anti oxidants and other stuff)

And, there's the over the counter pills sold as "urinary analgesics" to help with the pain/burning if you are still having them....

Oh, and you have probably figured out to drink lots more water during this time.  As much as you can get prissy to take!

Feel better!

Pam--
Thanks for the information it is really helpful and I appreciate it!!!  As for my prissy pouch..it really feels like something is "stuck" in my throat...I have no appetite whatsoever right now due to feeling so bloated and blah.....

Ugggg I kinda hate this...also this may be somewhat TMI but I am supposed to get my period this week...will the bladder infection and antibiotics mess that up?????? Cause it really doesn't feel the way it usually feels before my period and I can't tell if that is because I am  dealing with the bladder infection or what!!! Grrr....

I would like to be back to normal now please....LOL

Thanks!!
