Zip line wows
At almost 3 years out, I have to admit that the wow moments really do slow down, we get used to our new bodies, the fear and anxieties that we had pre-op tend to fade away. The small things that thrilled us become common place and part of our daily lives. Crossing my legs does not give me a thrill anymore it is just something I do. I do not get booth anxiety anymore, I really do not even consider it when walking into a restaurant, it takes alot more to WOW me these days.
Well I can say for sure that yesterday on my zip line trip. I was WOW'D. From the moment I got on the chair lift I was wow'd I Could not believe I was doing this, I could not believe how easy it was to get on and off the chairlift. Guess what the harrneses fit me easily and had to be tightened. I was able to do the ropes courses no problem. I was able to climb a two store cargo net, no problem, and the guide picked me up at the top and planted me on the platform. WHAT? he picked me up by my rope?
The biggest wow was when we were clipped into the line and told to sit down and hang and let the line hold us. This was my first moment when I thought oh god will it hold me? What will it feel like to dangle from a zip line? It was easy, it held me and it was effortless. I was thrilled.
Going through this experience with my friends and fellow travelers was so special, I am so glad i did it and cannot wait to do it again! Never settle in, never let the wow moments end. You may have to seek them out more than you did before, but they are out there. GO GET THEM!! What next? Parasailing? Trail Riding? who knows.
