I'm Home

I came home on Saturday and I am feeling amazingly well.  Did do a lot of sleeping yesterday.  Didn't get much in the hospital.  Other than a slight insulin problem that took 48 hours to resolve the sugery went smoothly.  Had some very painful gas issues that have moved with walking and moving about.  Today is working on protein and fluids and walking.  Oh yes,  a long hot shower!!    Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, and excellent advice.  It's great to finally be on the losers bench with all my friends.

I am so happy that everything went well for you.  I am glad you are home and through the insulin issues.

How intense were the gas pains?  Bearable?

The second night in the hospital they were pretty intense.  The nurses were right there with the pain medication and got me walking in the hall to move it along.  It resolved pretty quickly once I got moving

sip sip sip walk walk walk rest rest rest.. don't worry about getting all your protein in yet, it will be hard. 

Sorry I had to leave your room so suddenly, the lady that feel turned out to be a sister of someone who graduated with my husband....and she did go to the er...and is bruised badly, but has the same insurance co. as we do...thank God.....anyway, you did look wonderful and happy your on the other side of losing now......see you at gmc for the next meeting if your up to it....Lois

Welcome to the losers bench, Kathy!!!  Glad to hear that surgery went well and your issues resolved.  You won't get all your fluids and protein in right away---it takes a while.   Walk walk walk and sip sip sip!!!

The gas pains are...well....a pain!  Everyone's right, though, that the more you walk around and sip water the quicker they subside!
