Cooking Class / Support Group! Sat 8/29
This Month we are fortunate to be celebrating a 1 Year Surgiversary for Tanya! Let me know what treat you would like! AND we have Shannon just a few days before her baby is to arrive!
All are welcome regardless of surgeon, type of surgery or stage in the journey! Your support person is also more then welcome! The Hubbys/Boyfriends/Signifigant Others usually hang out and play Wii or I hear there is going to be a lively round of Rock Band this month!
We prepare all weight loss surgery friendly foods and offer support while doing it! If you have a pre-op favorite you would like to see re-worked just post it here or send me an e-mail / PM.
My address is

You can park anywhere on my grass (pink garage and forward) if you pull in facing the garage it allows more room for everyone to park! (The lady behind me is a witch and will call the cops if you park on her grass - so pink garage and forward is safe!)
PS - Our favorite new Pampered Chef Rep (Lisa H.) will be there with her goods - so if anyone is interested you can check out the website ahead of time (www.pamperedchef.com) and place your order with her on Saturday.
PPS - We do ask for a small donation (totally annoymous - there is a jar on the counter) if possible to help offset the costs - or bring a supply such as ziplock bags (for taking home goodies!), crystal light packets, a recipe and ingredients, paper plates or plastic silverware - thanks all!
Sooo.... Who's cooking with me?? Any special requests???
I also think that my friends Jose and Aimee might be coming with me. They are a married couple with whom I went to high school. Jose is having surgery in November and Aimee in December. They are using my surgeon. I spoke to them briefly about coming when they were at my grand opening party and Aimee said they would like to come, but just had to check their schedules. Hopefully they will be able to make it! They need all the support they can get and what better group of folks to offer it!!!
I will be there. And hopefully Tracy can come along!! We are trying to work it out!
Hubby maybe working so we will see what he can come up with. Either way Im coming!!!
If he doesn't race........we will definately be there! I probably wont know for sure until the wed. before.
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Liz i Have some SF Vanilla Wafers for you from NC.
Dont forget the beck group meets at 11 am that day at liz's
Flourless Brownies
Makes 16
No one will ever guess that black beans are the secret ingredient in this recipe!
Ingredients
1 (15-ounce) can no-salt-added black beans, drained and rinsed
3 large eggs
1/3 cup melted butter, more for the baking dish
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon gluten-free vanilla extract
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons cane sugar
1/2 cup gluten-free semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts
Method
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter an 8-inch baking pan. Place the black beans, eggs, melted butter, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla, and sugar in the bowl of a food processor and blend until smooth. Remove the blade and carefully stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Transfer mixture to the prepared pan. Bake the brownies for 30 to 35 minutes, or until just set in the center. Cool before cutting into squares.
