Question on between now and surgery

You know my story....it wasn't insurance that was the issue - it was the surgeon herself.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I had to worry a lot about weight gain because of my PCOS... Boe told me if I gained even a pound my surgery would be cancelled- no redo... but he also said that since I would be on a clear liquid diet before surgery there would be no way to gain unless I cheated... he was right... I lost 15 pounds in a week...

So, don't cheat and you will be fine...

The reason not to gain any weight before surgery is that it will effect the size of your liver.

You want to keep it at least the size it is now to make it easier on you and the surgeon.  The more obstacles in the way of the procedure will put you more at risk.  That is why the surgeon may cancel if you gain.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.
