Hi Everybody - I'm back!!
Long time, no post...but starting today my life should be getting back to a bit more normal - hopefully.
Mom is home from the hospital a week now - recuping is going slowly but in the right direction. She has visiting nurses 2 times a week and a PT person to help her regain her strength. Tomorrow I have to take her for a follow-up dr appt and bloodwork. The visiting nurse couldn't find a vein so it will have to be done at the lab. But considering all she went thru she is doing very well.
My house has seemed like a revolving door/hotel over the past several weeks. My sister came up from Florida to help with mom and ended up having to deal with her son's medical issues and other legal problems. Hopefully he is on the road to better health and getting his life together.
The day she left I brought mom home and my brother flew in from Florida the next day to help. In the meantime my daughter and granddaughters came back to me from York and I have had 7 glorious days with them. We went to visit my friends at the beach for several days, then Sunday we were at another friends with a pool. Yesterday I had to take my daughter and 2 youngest girls to the airport as they headed back to Seattle, but my oldest granddaughter is still with me and I am taking her to Lancaster today for the remainder of her visit with her best friend.
So now back to reality - eating has sucked - not nearly enough proteins and lack of exercise are catching up to me and I'm not feeling so hot today so back on schedule and back on track.
Its good to be back - really missed you guys!!

Kathy...glad you are back. I hope life gets back to normal for you. (Or as normal as possible)
Great to hear your mom is doing better. I pray that continues each and every day.
And it sounds so nice to be able to spend that time with your daughter and granddaughters. Enjoy your day in Lancaster!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Kathy,
I'm so glad to hear that things are stabilizing in your life and that your mom is doing better. Family upheaval is really so up-ending, isn't it?
Don't forget to care for yourself... it's tough to keep that in mind sometimes when you're so focused on caregiving! But it's important not only for your own goals, but also for the person you're giving care to, so that you have the reserves of energy (of all types) to offer the support they need.
HUGS!
Karen
