My Heart is Broken :(

Just wanted to share...I had to put my cat Max to sleep this morning. He has been suffering with urinary problems for the last few yrs & was bleeding alot last night. I decided I cannot be selfish any longer & I need to not put him thru yet another surgery (he just had the surgery about 10 days ago for the same problem). So...I sat with him at the emergency vet, held, petted & kissed him as he purred in my arms. He was very calm & the doctor administered the medicine & he took his last breath at 1:10am. Needless to say, I am heart broken & crying often. Thanks for allowing me to share my sadness here.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Diane,

I'm so sorry about your precious cat! I've lost my own so I know how it feels. There is no replacement, the only thing you can do it try and hang on to those memories the two of you share. I hope you feel better soon. At least you know that he is in no more pain now, and in a safe, warm place!

I am so sorry I have been in your shoes more times than I care to remember. It is so hard but it was the right thing to do. He is blessed that he got to be with you in love and in your arms in his last minutes. We should all be that lucky

Diane,

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I've been in your shoes too many times, and while the decision is agonizing you can take comfort in having spared Max more pain, confusion, and discomfort.  Having the strength to make the tough decision is a mark of how much you truly love him.  HUGS.

I'm so sorry, Diane.  Max looks like he was such a sweet cat.  I've been in that situation too, and it is never easy, but you were able to do it with dignity and a lot of love, and in his own way, I'm sure he knew that too.

I am so  sorry for your loss.
I know what u are feeling. I had to put my dog Max to sleep last Wednesday.
He went to sleep in my arms. We had him for 12 years and have many happy
memories.
