I do remember there being wireless internet, and I took my computer with me, but frankly I didn't feel like using it while I was there. Between getting up and walking and napping and breathing/coughing sessions and napping (and did i mention NAPPING), there just really wasn't a lot of time ;-).

Had my surgery there, Dr. Boe. Nope, no internet available unless you trust just any connection. I could get a connection but wasn't sure where it was coming from... so I chose not to use it. The television channels are male friendly, you get LMN and locals. Oh, and plenty of ESPN. Not my favorite channel. I played with my puter, solitaire kept me busy. They have you walking so much tho. Main thing I used was my i-pod, walked and listen to it more than anything else. Hope everything goes well for you. Your in good hands, everyone on the second floor is great. Good Luck!
Good luck tomorrow!!! You're in great hands at Barix!!! Sorry---there's no internet connection there. I was able to get the internet on my cell phone. Do you have a friend who can post to let us know how you're doing? I can do it if you'd like. I can pm my cell #to you, and someone can text me how you're doing. Julia
Yay for you for tomorrow! So excited for you - I brought my laptop and was told there was wireless but it needed a password and they were not willing to give it to me. Maybe you can be more persuasive than I was?!?! We will be waiting to hear how you are doing, so be sure to have someone call someone from these boards so we can get the update.
I say this as someone who is surgically attached to my laptop: DON'T BRING IT. Seriously. You will have so much to do when you're there, between getting up for walks, and sip sip sipping once you're able that you just won't have the time. Plus there are people coming in and out of your room constantly, and it's possible that it could go missing. I checked my email by phone when I was at Barix, and I even blogged and uploaded photos while there too.
