You are back to work on Monday already?  We don't have to go bac****il 9/1.  However, our building opens on Monday if we want to go in and get started.  What district are you in?

Steffi-
No i don't actually go back to work till the 9th but it will take me three weeks at least to set up my classroom the way I want it!!! LOL I am a total geek in that regard!  I actually work for the Archdiocese in a little school in Tacony...but I looooove decorating and setting up the room for my 2nd graders!!!

When do you start???

We officially start on September 1 - but with the new superintendant pulling her crap - I am not sure what is going to happen - we haven't had a contract for a year.  I love setting things up in my classroom as well - however, with 8th graders - just not as exciting!  Posters and things - lots of numbers and math symbols.  My girls are back from camp now - so I am starting to think about getting back to the classroom.  Just to get out of the house! LOL!

Trish - ouch! I broke 3 toes several years back (kicked a table leg) - it hurts but they didn't do anything but tape them. I LIVED for the ice bag by the end of hte work day!

Today's lineup:

Go to an exercise class - I missed yesterday because we had some company
Finish up a little bit of work that is a 'must do" by Monday
Finish 2 loads of laundry and fold
Clear out the residual from organizing my bookcases and get the overflow ready to donate to the library book sale - what a help this will be! Right now there is a small avalanche of books on the floor.
Maybe...go see Julie and Julia tonight.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

PS - I did hit the 20# lost mark this morning!

Trish,

Sorry to hear about your toe!   (I thought CATS were the experts at tripping their people.  Guess not.)

This morning had me up and out for a run early, then heading out to Lebanon for the day to a gem show.  My friend Mary called yesterday and asked if we could go - she's going through a horrible time right now, her husband is dying of cancer and they have two adolescent boys.  She really, really needs a day out and I need some gem beads to finish a couple of commissions, so it works out well.  But please send good thoughts and energy her way... just an awful situation and the nicest people... and waaaay too young.  Sigh.

When we get back, I'm cooking a couple of freezer meals for her family and am going to try to pre-cook a couple of things for us as well for next week.  We'll see how that goes.  I'm not "organized" with that like Liz ;-)

Hi Karen,
So sorry about your friend's husband.  A day out with you should help her tremendously.  Sounds like an interesting plan with the gems.

My cats were experts at tripping me, but what happened yesterday was a fluke.  I took Utley out to the dumpster to throw some trash out and on the way back he stopped dead in his tracks next to my car because he thought we were going for a ride.  I did not expect him to stop and slammed my barefoot into his hind leg.  He was oblivious to the incident, but I knew immediately I did serious damage.  My sister asked how he was after I told her what happened.  LOL

Have a great day with your friend.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning all!

Trish---I hope you're soon feeling better!

We're off on a bus trip to Brooklyn today for a baseball game.  My friend's son was drafted by the Mets and is playing on their A team this summer, so we're going to see him play.  There's over 50 people going, mostly their family.  We'll have the afternoon on our own, so we may go to the Brooklyn Baseball Museum and maybe to the Coney Island boardwalk.  The game is at 6pm, so we'll be getting home pretty late tonight.

Have a great day, everyone!
