I have about 5 bruises right now. I always have them, and never know where they come from. I have a big one on my leg thats been there 2 weeks. Alot of times low iron can cause it.

Have you had labs done lately?

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I have the same problem and had bloodwork done and they came back normal and Dr Pupkova told me to see a hemotologist so I am getting ready to make an appointment to do so.  I was told iron was not my issue.  I bleed faster and alot easier what used to be scraped skin now is cut.  I thought that was so weird?

Did they give u a blood thinner to prevent blood cluts? This could probably be why. I'm sure they gave you lovonex injections and that can thin it just enough that you would bruise or get red spots for unknown reasons. You should contact your pcp to report this, they may want to decrease your dose, i'm sure they will tell you to monitor for worsening, pain. IF your not on any thing for blood thinning, i would report this to your pcp anyways..... I know i didnt ahve the surgery yet.. but, imma nurse lol

Although I had bruising post op, new bruises didn't occur 2 weeks out. I'd call Rogers just to be safe.

It could definately be a lab problem...total iron binding capacity, hemoglobin, hematocrit, rbcs (all of this has to do with iron and anemia and things like that)

As far as the blood thinners go...I was given lovenox injections after surgery (small little shot in your stomach) but only IN the hospital...I wasn't discharged on any thinners.  Don't know if you were (coumadin, plavix, lovenox are a few common ones) but the other poster is right...if you are taking them, it's possible that could be the cause as well.  I'd be surprised if it was still reacting 2 weeks later if you haven't been taking them, though.

I'd mention it to the surgeon and see what they say...
