whats normal
There is no normal...when you go for your check-ups the doc will look at percentage of YOUR weight for the norms.
Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

There is no "normal".
The first weeks of surgery you will lose a lot quickly - most of i****er weight from IVs in the hospital and jus****er weight in general.
As opposed to POUNDS you need to look at percentages. The "gold standard" was 50-75% of "excess weight" lost in the first 12 mos from surgery. So....
If a person has 200 pounds to lose...in the first year they can expect to lose between 100 and 150 pounds in that first year. However, a person who has 100 pounds to lose can expect to lose between 50-75 pounds in that first year. A significant difference in actual POUNDS...but the percentage is the same.
And....be mentally prepared for a stall somwhere between 3 and 6 weeks. And depending on your body - they can last quite some time! WEEKS even! It also depends on your age, amount of weight needed to lose, your dedication to exercise and following the program...etc etc etc.
Congrats on the 10 pounds regardless already! That's like carrying two large bags of flour around with you all day!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
