Support is the Cure/ Group/ Eastern PA/NJ/De

Looking to start a surgery support group for the Eastern Pennsylvania, NJ, Delaware areas.   All surgery types both Men and Women are welcomed.  Looking to have meetings, share information, share stories, ideas, and just generally support each other.  Over the last few  years I have learned that with out support our fight for battling  obesity is impossible... and in our local  area there seems to be a lack of support groups outside of OH.....So If interested send a general  email to [email protected]  We are looking to have our first meeting in September, and monthly there after!

Hi! The first meeting will take place in far Northeast Philadelphia, not too far from the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I would say about 45 mins to an hour from Reading. Let me know if u are intrested!

More support groups can be a great thing, especially if you can schedule to avoid conflicting with the existing groups (Barix 1st saturday and 2nd wed night - open to ALL, including non-barix folks,  liz's cooking class/support group in Easton - usually seems to be 3rd or 4th saturday, and I know there are others...).    Maybe we could get a persistent thread listing support opportunities in the area - hmmm....  including OA meetings, might be a great thing, too!

ANYONE know how to contact OH to get that in place???

Hey Karen!! You are absolutely correct!!! We definetly would not want to conflct with another  group  that is in the area on their date . So having a place to list them would be great!! Right now we are looking at September 19- but that change depending on peoples needs.

 There is actually a section under groups, where you can type in your zip code and the groups in your area pop up!! I am not sure how up to date it is, but I do know that a lot of the local Hospital based groups are not listed. I will try and get a contact for someone so we can get it updated..
