some wows from my trip!
So are you sick of my posts yet? lol had to make up for lost time!
well being 2 1/2 years out the "wows" are few and far between - BUT that being said I had a few in the days I was away. I was with my Aunt - who is like my best friend (she was my matron of honor and all too) and her 3 kids - Shane is 14, Rachel (my god-daughter) is 11 and Mason is 9.
WEll we were getting ready the one morning and there was a scale in the room - for some reason Rachel asked me how much weight I had lost (about 140 pounds depending on the day) she was amazed that this was more then Shane weighs!
We stayed at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City - outside there is a GIANT set of stairs - well the kids wanted to climb it to go in the door at the top (avoiding the long walk around the casino) so I started counting - 40 steps and I wasn't one bit winded!! I walked right up them like it was nothing!
Tuesday on the beach the kids wanted buckets - in AC there aren't a lot of boardwalk shops and it is a hike to the area where they are - well I set off. I walked almost a mile in 90something degree heat down to buy buckets and wasn't winded again! I then walked back - along the waters edge and felt great!
And as much as I hate being in a bathing suit I walked around on the beach and wasn't self conscious (sp?) that everyone was staring at the "Fat girl" who dared wear a bathing suit. I swam, chatted with a life guard, AND sat in my low beach chair and was able to get out without a problem and never felt out of place!!
I can't thank all of you and Dr Brader enough for giving me and sharing in my new life with me! WLS was the BEST decision by far that I have ever made in my life!
*hugs*
Liz
PS - sorry that this turned into a novel - I just wanted to let the pre-ops, those stalling, and the recent post-ops know that this journey never ceases to amaze me!!

Loved your post, Liz.
It is so good to hear the Wows from the veterans. Good to know that the long road is worth it. Not to take away from your "wow", but I've been feeling a little blue lately (2 weeks post-op) and am reading posts tonight to try to get my "woohoo" back.
You've worked very hard and it's exciting to hear about your escapades in Atlantic City!
Keep 'em coming!
Pat
