Hi Casey,

I am also one of the Barix babies.  I just saw Dr. Boe yesterday for my 6 week check up.  I absolutely adore him.  He is very positive and just an everyday regular person.  The one thing that stands out for me is something he said at my consult.  Dr. Boe told me to eliminate the idea that I would NEVER eat something again.  He said that some things may not agree with me but eventually I could pretty much have a taste of most things.  It was so important for me to hear that because I do not do well with deprivation of any sort.

I also love the nurses and support staff at Barix.  Every time I am there for a doctor visit or a support group I go upstairs to see the nurses.  You will be in very good hands.  Best of luck on your weight loss journey.  This board is also a super place for support and guidance.  Take care.

I wish I could say that my experiences at Barix  were good. Well... they haven't been! Dr Boe seems to be VERY nice. But so far I think his staff sucks!! NO! help at all! Very disappointed. When I went to my consultation they seem OK, but its all been down hill from there.  They say that they will follow up from time to time but haven't herd anything from them, I have had to do all the following up. Also if I call and ask questions I get short annoyed canned answers. I even called and asked if there was a possibility that I could talk to the Dr. she said yes she would give him the message and I never got a response.  I am I so unhappy about all of this and I already gotten my insurance approval., so I'm thinking about switching Dr. and going to Temple.

Thanks for everyone's responses, they were a HUGE help! JHawk, sorry to hear about your trouble. I will be checking around for a nutritionist at local hospitals! I'm counting down the hours until tomorrow, lol. I can't wait!

Thanks! I hate to be the Debbie Downer in all of this. I was very excited to go to Barix as well. Such GREAT people on this web site who have been there, very good referrals. But with my experience not being so great I just thought you should know. Good Luck! You deserve to be excited!!

I have the same insurance and I was required to see my PCP and a nutritionist.  I went to see one in Bethlehem, PA.  If you're interested, let me know and I can give you her info.  I was actually just recently approved for surgery, so let me know if you have any questions.
