OK...I might have an addiction....

So since dancing on cloud nine over my size Mediums...(Still cant get over it!!! LOL)  I went to Target  AGAIN!!!!!!!  LOL Bought another little dress in a size medium....and a pair of leggings ....My wallet is screaming ...LOL

But the best thing...something I NEVER EVER  would have bought in a million years was a pair of knee high suede boots...OMG!!!! They are soooooo cool...I can't wait to wear them!!!!!!!

I think shopping is mynew transfer addiction...but I am going to try to go on a "no buy" till the end of August because I really need new work clothes, etc..for the school year...
I look at some items and I am like before I would never have even consider something like that...whether it is a short dress or knee high boots....but now I feel like I can ...it is def confidence building!!! But my questions for you are :

Anyone else do this...lose the weight and start buying things they would have been to afraid to buy in the past???? What did you do?? How did you feel?

Your input/advice is verymuch appreciated!!!

Much luv!!
Laura

Shop til you drop! You have a lot of lost time to make up for.

...that's how I see it anyway.

I went berserk with my shopping, but I did almost all of it at thrift stores, so I was still able to pay my bills.

If I had paid full price for 1/3 of everything I bought that year, I'd still be paying of the credit card. No bull.

Norm--Well I haven't gone too crazy...I did use some of my bonus money from work...and I do tend to stick to the sale racks.  So bills will still be paid!! Yay!

But I do like the thrift store idea....I may have to check them out again.  I never really shopped in them before cause quite frankly they didn't carry a whole heck of lot for girls who wear a size 24...but now it may just be a whole different ball game!!!

Thanks for the tip!!!

Night and day from then to now.

It's so fun!

I went to the Salvation Army one Saturday, and it was "All Clothes $1 day."

I literally rebuilt an entire business profesional wardrobe for less than $30. And that included two designer suits.

I too........got a pair of knee high black boots. I won't mention what they are "called" in my  house, but they are one thing I was so happy to buy because they would have NEVER zippered closed before! LOL

I too love to shop. However, like Norm.....I am a thrift store junkie! Almost ALL my clothes are from thrift stores, consignment shops or Yard Sales.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Jo-
Yeah I wont mention what the hubby said when he first saw them!!!! LOL But I can not wait to wear them in the fall!!!! So excited!!!

Like I told Norm...I may have to start looking inthe thrift stores again because the few times I went before during my heaviest phase...there was nothing in a size 24....except for old lady housecoats..yuk!!  But now there may be things I can actually wear!!! So I will def have to check it out and do some "retail therapy" that way!!!!

Thanks!!!

Hey, as long as you can bargain shop with your new addictiom and still pay your bills I see nothing wrong with it all - enjoy your new body - it feels wonderful to be able to shop like 'normal' people again. Can't say high boots will ever be in my closet - calves are still probably too big for that, but I am wearing styles I never would have ventured forth into before - and shopping in stores I  never could before - for me its Coldwater Creek - I have always LOVED their clothing but even tho some things went up to a 3X there was no way they were fitting on my old body, but now I can go in and buy their size 18 jeans and they fit beautifully - and I'm happy to say so far I've been able to buy everything on sale. Marshalls and TJ Maxx are my new best friends, too - you have to hunt and pick but even on their clearance racks you can get some great bargains - I got a really cute blouse for $8.

So go enjoy your new addiction - it feels wonderful!!
