Good Morning,
Today has me home from work. Woke up yesterday and still not feeling much better, with a sore throat, feels like pressure in my face and head, and sneezing - I think it's sinus, but since I've never had a sinus infection not really sure.
Will be giving my PCP a call today to see if they will perscribe something to get rid of this.

Today I'll be laying around, maybe try to do some reading or just veg out on TV all day....

Have a great day...

Ida

Hi all - I guess Pam is asleep at this point - it is now 8:30 AM!

Today should be a fun day for me, no children in the house for this entire work week! :) - This morning hubby and I are goingto deliver food for our locan Jewish Relief Agency - Never did this Mitzvah (Good Deed) before, so looking forward to it!  Then we are going to Lowe's to get some floating shelves for the living room.  He then sleeps for work tonight and it is ALL ABOUT ME!  (Well, it is USUALLY all about me, but this time, I don't feel guilty about it....OK, I really never feel guilty about it....but anyway.....)

I will be headed off to the market, the cleaning girls are coming, going to get some laps in at the pool, then tonight is a BIG SPECIAL PARTY at my house, women only, with a special guest and her SPECIAL products!  If anyone wants to schlep to NE Philly tonight, 7PM, let me know, I will send you my address! :)

Should be a jam paked day with lots of fun things to do!  Hope you all have a great day!

Nope....wasn't asleep quite yet!  Didn't lay down till after 9a...and was up before 11 just because I couldn't sleep.  Oh well, I'll get my nap in later today!

Sounds like a GREAT evening/night!

Morning everyone - I'm at work today then off tomorrow. My daughter and 2 youngest granddaughters arrive tomorrow morning around 9:00 AM from Seattle so I'll be picking them up from the airport - sadly I'll only have them for about an hour and then they leave for York to visit their other family and won't be back to me until next Monday, but then I have them for a whole week so I won't whine too much right now. Haven't seen them since August when I went out there so I'm really missing them. My oldest granddaughter is already in the area but in Bethany Beach with friends this week so I won't see her til next Monday.

Mom update: She is still in the step-down ICU unit - the blood clot is not dissolving like they had hoped and they're not moving her around too much because of it, which is not helping the pnemonia - so...not sure what other measures they may take where the blood clot is concerned. She seemed to be feeling better yesterday but the poor little thing is nothing but black, blue and purple on her arms, belly and butt from all the bloodwork and shots. She's also still wearing a heart monitor even tho they said she was not in congestive hear tfailure when I took her in last Sunday - it was all due to the blood clot.

My older sister is here from Florida right now so she's taking some of the hospital runs which takes a little pressure off me, but she's scheduled to leave Thursday - not even sure mom will be home by then. Taking things one day at a time.

That's about it for me, gang...

Thanks for the update - I have been thinking about you guys!  The pneumonia on the xray can look like congestive heart failure, as can the blood clot stuff.  Sometimes on xrays, fluid just looks like "something" and they can't quite figure out what it is.

I'm assuming she's on heparin for  the blood clot?  That will add to the easy bruising with everything that she is getting right now.

Hugs!

She is on heparin - her poor tummy and now her backside are black, blue and purple. They thought they might have to give her a blood transfusion yesterday because her white blood count was bad, but then they pulled more blood and her red blood count was up so they decided not to. Her white blood count is most likely due to the chemo? Yeah, poor little thing feels like a pin cushion and looks like a plum! She is prone to blood clots in her lungs, sadly, and this one doesn't seem to want to go away.

Thanks for asking...she's doing pretty good all things considered I think.

My life is so boring. It sucks that my first skinny summer is being spent inside most of the time. I still sweat like I am 300 pounds....what's up with that? Anyway, I am going to breakfast as soon as my 19 year old wakes up...I guess I will wake her up since she usually doesn't get up until after noon anyway and I am getting hungry. Then off to super Wal-mart for some light food shopping.

I am excited that my friend of 20 years is moving back to pa from Florida after 10 years. I don't have many close friends so she will only be 40 mins from me and I'll have someone to hang out with. I can't wait. My 3 closest friends I've had since I was a teenager. I thought I was always too fat and uncomfortable with myself to make new ones but that is going to change. I am going to get out there more...once I can move around better and meet some new friends...lol.

Good Morning Pam,
I am late posting because I am not used to chasing a two year old around for hours on end first thing in the morning.  We had a fun night of Popcorn and Mary Poppins late last night.  My daughter will kill me if she finds out how late we stayed up.  But, then we got up early and played with the trampoline, the magnet balls and the doll house.  We also watched Shrek and are now watching Lion King.  Somewhere in there, Grandma also emptied the dishwasher and loaded it again, and then mopped the bathroom floor, scrubbed both toilets and the shower and tub and sinks.  I also dusted the living room and swept the wooden floor.  I mopped the kitchen yeseterday.  We ran to the post office and the grocery store and I am now trying to figure out what to do next.  Izzy is going to crash early for her nap, as I can tell she is exhausted.

This afternoon, my daughter and Lincoln should be home.  They are waiting to be discharged, but there were 18 babies being discharged today from the hospital.  The more my daughter rests, the better.

My food has been goofy, but I am not bingeing and making sure I get my protein.  As for exercise, have you ever tried to keep up with a two year old for three days straight?  I am glad I had my own kids when I was a teenager.  I am too old for this.  Thank God for menopause.  No chance of a repeat there.  LOL

Grandchildren are the reward you get for not killing your own kids.

Love,
Trish
